Hi all - Iโ€™m trying hard to get back into the swing of cultivation here. 

CW III is still ON.

Plan is to have it run all the way through Dec 15, to give everyone PLENTY of time to fruit cakes. 

Strongly recommend using 250mL (half-pint) wide mouth jars for speed. 

Rules will be the same as for CW-II, and we can have subclasses of competition anywhere there are 2 or more entrants in a class.

Iโ€™ll pull together a hopefully coherent rules list and get that posted this weekend.

I'm planning on using the recipe in my signature, it definitely deviates from the standard recipe.  Mind if I still post my stuff here?  Might not count but I'd still like to participate.

They just did some kind of Roid Games in Las Vegas, and from what I heard, it was quite the shit show.

I'll kick things off a little here.
I plan to grow ps. ochraceocentrata purported to have a "green nip" pheno. We will see.
In addition I am planning either semperviva or TTBVI/Komodo. Not sure yet but if someone would send the latter to eme, that would be great. I'll do it solid honorific justice during the battle, and the war.
I plan to use regular 4 and 8oz jars with plain lids (2 holes). Keeping it plain jane and gtg. Less complicated the better. I know the half-pint is recommended for speed, but it's not what I am primarily focused on here. This will be my first attempt at growing since 2024, and I plan to put into it everything I have and all the experience, skill and know-how at my command.
I will be using coir and a water tub for fruting.
There is also the possibility of me using old KSSS spores from 2008. If that is the case, I will let you guys know.
I am dead serious, not taking prisoners, and feral for success and to rejoin the active growers here in our community.
After this weekend, I am getting moved into a new apartment and jar prep/grain prep and agar work is first on the itinerary (probably before I even get finished moving.)
I consider this my OP for the competition and will be returning to fill in details, post pictures and progress, as well as post updates on the OP linking back to it.
I am excited to be a part of this tourney and hope everyone has success and fun from it.

I wanted to do albinos cause itโ€™s what I usually grow. But my test runs for BRF sucked.

I am really thinking about jumping in on this, I have done experimental Rice bran sort of "cakes" but not in the traditional sense.  Could I use rice bran and verm, or should I just get some brown rice and go OG style.

I do like the idea of an experimental recipe category. Ground oatmeal got me some of my nicest cakes.



Perhaps we could limit it to alternate flours rather than supercake recipes. Could be a good way to gather data on efficacy.

Fiddle if you are doing ochras I'll do some too :rockon: so there's at least a couple entries in the mix. I'm planning on Rusty Whyte for my cubes, might do some Citrus Ridge too (got more jars coming this week!).

I was thinking the Rusty Whyte extra print and maybe try to resurrect a TAZ or AA+ originally from... well I won't mention that, can't plug that source, NO Sir! I need to check out what's lurking in my box of goodies.

I'm running ochras as well for sure. That and B+. Beyond that, who knows.

I have ambitions of trying many kinds of BRF, including hand-ground from some nice brown rice if I can find some, to see if that adds more nutrients etc. But that's a stretch, if I find the energy,.

I do know for a fact rye flour works very well.  Cornmeal/flour does too, I've played with them several times in the past.  As far as nutrition/growth speed/perceived potentcy I saw no difference. 

I do have a question tho.  Are we restricted to lid design and amount of mss/LC/LI we're allowed to use?  Reason is I'm planning on doing one hole dead center ala ComebackKid, and have heavy thumbs so sometimes I'll inadvertently put 2cc in a cake lol.

If it is like the last round, we could only use MSS and I donโ€™t think there was any restrictions on the amount injected or the lid design.
Looking forward to these Ochra grows
