dude, sugar got me up to 192.5kg - now down to just about 162kg

Its just friendly advice, of the many sweeteners, Sucralose, Neotame and Xylitol are very good picks.

Very good news for Neotame!!

The EU reevaluated Neotame (E961) as a food additive on May 25, 2025

2025 reevaluation, hot of the press!

They concluded Neotame is SAFER as it was expected it could have been, so they INCEASED the ADI from the already high 2mg/kg to a whopping 10mg/kg, at once making it the safest sweetener with reasonable availability at present.

Tio give you an idea: A standard 70kg person by simple calculation can safely ingest 700mg Neotame every day for the rest of their lives without ill effect (ADI definition)

700mg Neotame averages the sweetness of 7kg of sugar.
Nobody in their right mind consumes even 10% of that much sweetness.
Its the sweetness contained in 35 two-liters of softdrink every day.

This is cause for celebration :birthday:

The average person can consume a gram of sucralose a day, which already is well safe enough for anybody, as really almost no one consumes the equivalent of 600gr of sugar a day, but Neotame has proven to be over ten times safer than Sucralose where it comes to ADI and sweetness potency.

I can vouch for neat Neotame tasting deliciously sweet and the taste has a slight licorice like hint, which is tasty, instead of the vile metallic bitterness of the sulfonamides like saccharin, acesulfame-K and cyalamate, which I feel have no place in the mindful kitchen.

Use of Neotame is almost absent in the US or the EU. it is highly popular in Asia, especially China and India, where billions of thirsts must be quenced and sweet tooths’ be filled (it doesn’t cause cavities lol) and replacing ten pallets, ten metric tons, a whole small truckload of sugar with one kilo of decently soluble Neotame is extremely alluring.
