Hopefully I'll be able to participate in the cakewars, especially since the event along with the Martha Marathon Madness has garnered so much attention and popularity, it really is exciting. I'd like it to be one of the first things I do coming back to the boards. I should have my place by then, so hopefully I can get something going by then, even if I'll be a late entrant. I'm currently in the process of moving, starting two new jobs, and starting my whole life over from scratch.

So coming back to cultivation feels right because I am going to be living my life again on my own terms and hopefully living alone, at least by the end of September. Maybe mid-October I'll join without being focused too much on winning, but just focusing on self and meditating on the power of what we do intentionally. Even if I can't trip, I can still bang on keys, literally, and look at everyone else having fun.

I see the majority of my family and friends leading normal lives, and though it pains me that I've strayed from the path, I do not live in their world anymore, never did, and couldn't if I even wanted to, which I have until very recently, when I began sensing shifts in the presence of my perception, coming awake to certain realities, et cetera... living their lives, progressing in their goals, career, marriage, family, etc. And here I am, finally trying to build a life that's actually mine, with a clean slate and a fresh chance.

Throughout my lifetime I've struggled with mental illness, depression, anxiety, addiction... I've overcome a lot in my small time on Earth, and for the first time in a long time I feel actual optimism for the future and what it may bring. Every day is a new canvas now.

I feel glad to be back and appreciate the opportunity to contribute further, and if I seem distant, glib, or otherwise austere (stern), please attribute it to nothing more than my growing caffeine habit and tolerance, the need for additional T-breaks, and all the joy that brings, as well as my narrowly averted housing and food crisis. That is over now. I want to help answer questions the best I can and try to sponsor new growers so they have an extra chance of success. It's a part of a program I do with staying clean, but it also works in my favor of learning and growing in my cult and teaching skills, as it enforces both. It's good for my overall health, and can be objectively argued that mushrooms are medicine for the world to heal, and we are the proprietors (pharmacists) of that forsaken draught. Nectar for the soul and for anything that ails me, if it weren't for the SSRI medications, as I insinuated prior.

Anyway, thanks for having me back. I'll be here reading, thinking, and growing quietly in the dark with all of you guys. But fun dudes like us never needed light to grow anyway; just don't feed us any horseshit, or we might grow on you.

Hey Fiddle Diddle, thanks for opening up. We're here for you, man. Sometimes it's all we can do to get through a day. I'm happy to hear that you have positive feeling for a future. That bit can produce a lot of good in one's life. A vision to strive for! I'm also wrestling with addiction on top of it all. It's a foul and deceptive beast. I wish you the best figuring out a life of abstinence. I'm still trying to get there myself. Check out Dr. Nicole Labor on one of the platforms. In her videos, she explains the rebuilding side of recovery. Seems to be a pretty sharp lady. I hope it helps. All the best and mush love, man.

So I definitely had the genius idea to save time by pressure coooking my agar media bottles with my grain… why didn’t I ever think about that?

I realized why the second I saw what my two hour pressure cook did to my LMEA and media bottles:burnbabyburn:

I felt so dumb when I realized that the reason I had never thought of this amazing hack, was because you can’t fucking do it. Pretty sure I was sober when this happened as well.

Hey Gil, that sounds like a great first step. I hope you find a good one, open up yourself and stick with it. Therapy is no end station but it can help so much with understanding yourself and breaking negative / unhelpful loops...

I confess that I had a really good, saturated acid trip at the festival. A lot of visual awesomeness, wild dancing, weird gibberish... Found some peace with the passing of our friend and of my beloved kitty Haika. Decided to expand my woodworking skills once we get home.

Also I cut my weed intake by at least 50% in the past four weeks, pretty much on a whim. Which is insane considering I didn't have the kids most of the time and we went to a festival.


Cult is still non-existent as we're only going home to directly depart on the next vacation. First world shit

P.S.: bird seems to be active in the new users thread, flapping his wings for the good of all

I confess that I’m embarrassed by the level of improvement I’ve seen in my cult work since getting back into the hobby post recovery from alcoholism. Lotta time wasted on shitty tubs and ruining any investment I was making with shaky hands and addled thinking. And that’s no judgement on anyone but myself; I simply couldn’t handle my shit.

I’ve never been a big poster on here, and my natural inclination in general is toward reading and staying quiet, but I’ve always had the highest opinion of this community and am grateful for the knowledge and positivity it’s brought into my life. It really is unlike any other place I’ve ever frequented online.

Burning the candle at both ends trying to make the ends meet and im frankly barely making it. i havent had a day off in months . I cant tell if im depressed or just really exhausted.


Time for a reset. thinking of doing an acid trip this weekend and getting back to baseline

My heart goes out to you, man. Working like that is no way to live, and yet, for most of us, it seems like life is unable to offer much of a realistic alternative. We had to pull my kids from daycare this year cause we couldn’t afford it, so I’m caring for them during the day and working nights for the time being.

I know for a lot of us that, every time we look up, more money is going out and any semblance of security in life is galloping away from us. Sweating it out at work every day and having all that effort do nothing to shrink the feelings of vulnerability and stress that constantly menace you can only really result in depression and exhaustion. I hate it for you that the world lacks enough justice to reward your hard work with some peace, and I hope it gets better soon.

I also hope that trip rocks you and that you get some kind of renewal out of it.

We all have mistakes or things that go astray, but most of us don't show off our failures unless they're so catastrophic they're hilarious. Keep in mind there's legit the LeBron James of the cult game on forums like this, my shit doesn't stack up either but hey look at us doing it anyways. Kinda beautiful in a way, we can still love the game while occasionally face planting
