Just keep everything really small and moveable. that way you can move it if you have to and it does look very suspicious to people who dont know whats going on so you'll have to have an excuse ready to spit out

i think this would be good because you wouldn't have to worry about them finding your terrarium. they already know where it is. hell, you could even get your parents to watch over them when you leave for the weekend or something. ------------------ "i like food, food is good" The Descendants

My "buddy" is doing something similar. Right from the get go he told his mom that he was doing an experiment with his formaer bio teacher because he was interested in the field of biology. He showed her the jars and the syringe, not the cakes but she snuck a peak anyway. Now he just tells her that they won't change for at least half a year, and he has to document the changes. She's even proud of him!!!HA!! He has a terrarium under his bed and just keeps it low. Now she won't bust "him" and he has no serious explaining to do.

Of course, claiming they are edible invites them to be tasted by the unwary! Fortunately, small pets, tended by you, benefit from strange, poisionus to human, do not even think of eating them gramps, shroomies.

What i did before i realized that my parents don't care whatsoever..is just left a procedure sheet laying around..that said like my name..and like "AP summer bio project"....then it looks like u have a good reason..and you don't have to hide anything. Although your parents will ahve to be somewhat naive for it to work. Good luck!-Primate ------------------ ~~"Everybody seems to think I'm lazy, I don't mind, I think they're Crazy"~~ -John Lennon

HAHAHA Jaffe, that's so funny because I told my mom the very same thing, that it was a science experiment I was doing in biology, and she thought that was just super. It was all cool. But later on, when the cakes were in in my terrarium waiting to fruit, she found my PF tech booklet. Then things weren't so cool anymore. She was going to throw them away unless I got rid of them. I couln't figure out what to do, so I took all five cakes while she was gone, mashed them up and boiled them in Coke-cola of all things, and then strained out the liquid and drank it. I wasn't really expecting a whole lot from it, but OH MY, I never shroomed so hard in my life. It was amazing! So at least I got something out of it all.

there was once someone in the same predicament as you. this person kept this project in a large tv box in a closet, which had one side cut open for quick, and easy access. it could then be slid to one side and pushed against a wall where this side was concealed. good luck!Ic?KLe

Maybe Paddy Straw mushrooms look alittle like them. You know, those gross things in Chinese Food that taste just like a tin can?

I would advise growing at least one cake of the edible, just in case you have to produce some for the suspecting. They could then eat the edibles and feel at peace. Wouldn't suspect anything after that. You could probably just buy some fresh mushies that look similar, too.

i was thinking of growing two casings side by side one magic, one gourmet. then when harvest time comes around dry the goodies, and cook up some stir fry for my parents. then we are all in a good mood.------------------ "i like food, food is good" The Descendants

*You* could just say that you're growing two types of gourmets. Always use scientific names, they are greek, and few people know greek very well. You parents would never break out a id guide to make sure you gave them the right greek name.Grow some gourmets and feed your parents. At the same time grow your own "gourmets" and never feed them to your parents. If they wonder why they never get to taste the gold caped ones, it's because the spores have endemic populations of bacteria that get cultured in with the cakes. The bacteria are poisonous and therefore the shrooms aren't edible. But they are harder to grow, and you like the chalenge. I mean hell, if you can grow those (insert greek word), you can grow any gourmet and you might just become a farmer one day. Or you could go covert. Old speaker cabinets are good places to hide terreriums. Boxes in the closet work somewhat. Get creative. Or you could do the right thing. Respect your parents wishes to not have illegal substances in their house. It is their right, and bad karma to you for depriving them of it. I wish I hadn't been so arrogant and selfish when I lived at home. Just think, one day you will have your own place. If you are like 90% of the rest of us, you won't want people shooting smack in your bathroom or smoking crack on your front porch. You will expect people to respect your castle. Now won't that be a little hypochritical if you can't respect someone elses castle? So talk your parents into giving you permission, grow outside, at a friends house, pick your own from the wild, or just buy from a dealer. But you should respect your parents while you're in their house. You will have your own place soon enough. -flame away ------------------ -From a registered Mad Scientist "From a certain point of view" -Jedi Master Obiwan Kenobi (also a Mad Scientist tm)

be aware that maybe your parents know what you are doing. parents usually know more than you think they do. My dad did his fair share of drugs, so any story i ever tried to tell him he'd laugh because he knew the truth...(i was lucky he is cool about drugs) so if you give them some fancy name....dont use the real names JUST IN CASE.....my parents never would have believed me if i told them i was growing plain edibles....and mushrooms are one of my favorites..on pizza or stuffed...mmmmmmm
