Thank you, Agar Wedge, the pink Lions Mane spawn is ready, SO wispy, it always looks like it's not colonized, until you really look.  Definitely one of the more wispier varieties I've had the pleasure with, mycelium wise anyway.  The Branched Oyster is begging me to spawn, nothing wispy about that one.

Hey now, had some other projects weighing on me that needed attention, but still rollin'

Check out the Pink O blocks, the chamber is dialed in all the way now, 96% with a 4-point differential was keeping the casings from drying, but no beads, so I went to 97% with a 2 point Diff, and yeah, a little wetter than I would like in between cycles, current settings, 96.5H, and 5.5 point diff, initially I went with a 3 point and wasn't evaporating like I want so minor adjustments, but keep in mind this is just me being picky, but always, and I mean ALWAYS, watch your trays (or blocks), never mind what that read out says, it's just to help you find that sweet spot (and stop the humidified air from coming in your chamber).

When you make blocks, it may seem like they aren't moist enough, check the beads in the bags (and fast colonization), it's absolutely perfect.

The LM has been ready waiting on me, 4 more blocks in the works, I wanted to knock them days ago, but life happens and have to keep up with that project too.

The Branched Oyster is dying to be spawned too, I may just do two big bags since 3 (jars left) is an odd number, and I haven't made a 7-8lb bag since I first started making bags too big... for my 16 qt rig.

In other news, I shook all 6 quarts yesterday at day 5, the Ingeli is pretty fast, but this Blue Springs is just annihilating seeds.  All jars look great, this isn't my work like the Peace River from spore to finish, these are from another source, I don't do too many LC's these days, but great work thus far, really excited for the Komodo/BVI cambo, fast too, the Eungai is the slowest, but catching fire fast.  The Mexicana is nice speed, above average, but not by much, the Natalensis isn't slow, but around average cube speed if I were to put a label on it.  This IS supposed to be the Real NAT not Ochra, they look right from what he showed me, but I just want to see if it produces sclerotia, been looking for a Pan Cinct culture for a while too, but in due time, plenty to play with right now.

The pan trays have been in the chamber for 2 days, they are CV+ so slower, manure would have already been giving up the  goods, no worries, everything looking great, no soggy subs, and a little beading on the trays, that's what  I'm looking for.

Pics right before shake up

I believe the one below is Blue Springs, fastest one right with Komodo

And the Mexicana

Eungai

And last but not least... NAT... Note to thyself, WIPE down the top of my
Fridge!

Woohoo, my first CV+ pins, even the outdoor tray (uncased and the cobweb couldn't take it outside) is pinning as well in a 66qt mono in 95-100F weather in the shade most of the day in my original Martha frame, the plastic was scrapped since first setup was slices in the tent, and trying all sorts of configurations, humidifier in the tent, top shelf, bottom shelf, mid shelf sucked the worse, until I decided to pipe in.  The top shelf inside wise, was the best, but I had an old vacuum hose laying around in the garage, and it was a perfect match for the Vicks Coolmist single disc.

I guess I get my way... anyway, I wanted to try an uncased tray, initially small cobweb so outside it went to dry out quite a bit, bye bye mold, and then proceeded to mist the tray every morning, and sometimes at night, or not, depending on heat and looks of the surface, usually a light misting to make sure it makes the morning without drying out completely.  Solid drench in the morning to make it through the day, hot and low humidity this time of year, so moisture it is, and plenty of air.

I'll let the indoor trays pin a bit more, but all trays are on the same track, cased or NOT!  Should be interesting, right off the bat, outdoor pins are more on the yellow side, instead of orangish in the beginning.  Same with cubes I have seen in the past, lighter yellow caps and super dense fruits, I enjoy outside fruits just as much, maybe even more, since it's usually something that is dead to me anyway.  Never give up, never surrender, ok I'm sounding like an old Van Dam movie or something... Later Cultivators!

Blocks are cooling off, the Bolles BH and Branched Oyster have been colonized for some time, it's like a storm went off in the oyster jar (normal).  I'll wait until the morning to spawn them, I doubt the 4 blocks will be ready tonight, pretty hot here today (bags are slow to cool down).  All the best... in your success!

Wispy BH... LM in general... always tough to spot growth, but it's there... somewhere.

Between the flash and how white the jar is, it's blinding ME!

Welcome back to my Block Party!  The 4 blocks were taken care of a little while ago, got it done before it gets to hot and the A/C kicks on.  Rough this time of year working with cultures, definitely not used to this mid-Summer season, but we rollin' all the same.

8 Blocks, I'll get the last two done soon, I'll max out the bag at around 7lbs, then all the older spawn is working for me and cleared up.  Branched Oyster is trying to grow out of the jar.

In other news, I have another round of 7 jars ready to Noc up later tonight with G2G or LC.  I like to save a few seeds, low on LC for the Bears Head, I'll save the rest of the LC and plenty for two more jars, that will probably be it for the Pink Bolles.  I'll be doing two more jars of Pink Oysters as well, 8 each, and go from there.  It will be a while until I can dip into the KO and Black Pearl King, (I might be able to squeeze a king/blue soon) colder environment needed, but warmer species will keep me busy all the same.

All 6 of the quarts are doing excellent, really happy with the work I was provided (LC), been through the wringer years ago with contaminated cultures, it can be tiresome, but I prefer my own work... also very gratifying going from spore... to the goal line and for the win... SCORE!  Be well everyone!

Hey Hey, Happy Friday!  I inoculated all 7 new jars of WBS this morning, 2 were G2G Bolles Bear H, two more Pink Oyster, I have just a little bit of Maitake left, see if it jumps off, and 1 each of NAT and Mexicana, possible stone jars while I'm playing with Pans, I'll throw in an Ingeli tray here and there, but  I really need to get this Agar done, it's been hot, and the timing hasn't been right lately.  It will be my first water agar run, used to making 10/10 plates 20 at a time.  I bought a case pre covid (I think 500), still have plenty of sleeves left, and I went plate crazy for a while too.  Plates can be addicting... nowadays, I'm just looking for a clean culture, a tool for the next step is all.  Different goals for like-minded cultivators.

Finally getting more than just one pin on the Pan trays (used to manure, so CV+ is different and new to me), a little drier than I would like (this morning) so the differential is 2.5... pretty tight from 96.5 setting, climbs to almost 97 percent when it clears the tote of fog.  I gave the trays a light misting to get them back in shape, mainly on the edges, but I'm not letting the humidity drop like I was either.  I am getting just a touch of moisture on one of the rails, nothing too wet, but just what I'm looking for.  I already know 97 with 2-point diff is too wet, so still tweaking it here and there. I'm really just getting it dialed in for new work; these trays are free rollers (last 2 jars). I have plenty of these.

Only a T1 grab this culture, so... no pressure or expectations at all.  Have a great weekend and... be well.

Hey Hey, another hot day, I did get two bags prepped for the branched oyster blocks, they will be about 7lbs which is about the max for this size bag.  I am getting low on pellets, wasn't a brand-new bag, but 10 blocks (two almost double my normal block size) and I still have enough for maybe 2 or 3, but I'll get more pellets soon and kill off the old bag.

I did shoot up the seven jars the other night, WoW, the Mexicana culture is fast to show growth, less than a day and looking great.  The two Nat and Mexi jars will be on hold while I'm running through a few Pantastic varieties, and I'll squeeze in the Pink Oyster blocks as well in between, or during, I have't decided yet, on the fly sort of deal.  I do have a rough outline and or plan, the Ingeli is almost as fast as the Blue Springs Pan, B Springs is ready right now, Ingeli, another day or so... ready to go.  The Komodo/BVI is right behind, and the Eungai is a wispy tough to see, but going well and not far behind either.

The corners of 2 trays (of 9) just a touch drier than I like, so I went back to 97%, with the amount of air they get, and a 2.5 diff, 2 points a little wetter than I like, so I'll test.  I haven't ran the tent in these conditions with the newer setup, I do cold species mainly, but I want to grow them ALL.

Alrightie folks, made up the blocks yesterday, too much going on, so didn't geta chance to sterilize them yet, but I'll get it done tonight more than likely.  I'm pretty bummed, I'm going to lose a Bolles jar (G2G), due to being rushed during the process, and I should have waited, I don't normally lose G2G jars, so yeah, life getting in the way, my kids going through it, and I fumbled on the 1-yard line, no reason to lose G2G jars with a clean culture.  Ahwell, ONE up for the bacteria and mold growers, so irritating knowing, I told my wife (at the time), well if it goes bad, I know what happen, and two days later, looking like Cobweb, threadlike growth on one of the Bolles jars.  I'm just hoping that jar was the last jar since I did the two G2G last.

Live and Learn they say, don't rush the process, but be efficient... words of wisdom today... we always want to blame something or someone else, no can do, ALL ME!!

Whaddup cultivator's, I did end up losing both of the G2G jars, with being interrupted, and then rushed, and didn't respray the SAB... there you have it, and it wasn't Cob, it grew out a little further and 100% identification... Rhizopus stolonifer... aka Pinhead mold, or bread mold.  I've seen this a few times over the years, mainly on plates, but it hits grain and subs too sometimes.  If I would have let the tammed Pan trays to grow out further (outside, it went away), guaranteed pinhead mold too, it's pretty common. It's like I say... cause and effect... at the end of the day... I should have waited, or spray again if it takes too long.  No worries, a few cents worth of seeds and time... I do this on the cheap.

In other news, I nocced up the two Branched Oyster Blocks this morning, man are they heavy, I'm used to about 5lbs or just under, these babies are some hefty sacks. Oh, all the LC jars are fine, just too long in the SAB, and should have started again from scratch.  In all honesty, I shouldn't have been doing that work at the time with my kid struggling and life kicking her in the ass, so FULL blame on me, this isn't a production environment, and my stubbornness and impatience IS the cause... sidetracked and disturbed, not the way to do work... in any form.

The Ingeli and Blue Springs is ready to go; I'm hydrating a half of a brick of Coir as I type, my normal Manure/CV subs, unfortunately it looks like the Komodo/BVI is a staller, it was stalling out, so I shook it to see, and it's not looking good at this point.  If I don't see anything by tonight, it's a wrap on that one.  I have plenty of LC, but hopefully she isn't a Dud, but it was doing fine, until it wasn't.

The new Mexicana jar is SO fast, but the Nat, 2 Pink Oyster, and the Dancing Hens is showing growth too.  I want a rematch with Maitake, aka... hen of the woods... BAD!.  If timing is right, I could fruit it maybe in late January or Feb some time, we shall see. I only had a tiny squirt left, so it's a small spot of growth, but all good, future jar project situation.

Alright folks, off to add the Verm, mix it up, and add my manure, and to the stove we go for pasteurization.  Take Care and Be Well.

Alright, welcome back, 7 quarts of Manure/CV chillin' in the PC... pasteurization, DONE!

I will be spawning the Blue Springs Pan (tonight), and the Ps Ingeli, both are ridiculously fast colonizers, happens quick. I am finally caught up with all older spawn and projects, I can get to making some plates and get the Pan IND01, Estero, and the one I've been wanting to grow for some time, Pan Bisporus (although highly intrigued with the IND01).  That's the word, so you heard.

Alright, Alright, Alright, in my best Wooderson voice, I did end up tossing the Komodo/BVI, definitely completely stalled, done deal, I'll shoot up another jar soon, no worries.

I spawned the Eungai this morning, finished off the 7 quarts of C/V/M... Blue Springs, Eungai, and the Ingeli are under way.  I am really excited for the Ingeli tub, and hopefully some red spores with the Blue Springs or Eungai.  Pans always excite me, different varities, but this Ingeli for some reason... HAS my attention.  I'll definitely hit another jar with LC of that one.

I'm going to wait on the Zap and Semp prints, rough this time of year, Semps might be ok, but I doubt Zaps would like these rough summer conditions.

I do want to get the INDO1 going and the Bisporus, since I'm going Pantastically crazy with them.  I do want a rematch with Estero too, but it will be hot here for at least another 2 months roughly, plenty of time to run through some Pan genetics, if I have to finish up with an aquarium heater in the bottom, I have before and it's a box waiting on me if needed.  I doubt I will have to, but options, or heat the mud room like I have in the past as well.

Oh, I am seeing growth on the Pink BH blocks, and already growth on the branched oyster, no surprise there, oysters are fast colonizers and fruiters, great beginner or advanced cultivator mushroom to really push the air limits and grow some Monsters!

The Peace River trays are boring me, slow AF, not sure I'm onboard solely with CV+, and with the higher spawn rate, I went back to higher spawn rates with the newer work, spreading myself a little thin I think, so far, not exactly Pantastic with CV+ or lower spawn rates.  Ahwell, plenty of Peace River right now, tester trays really, all good, the fruits that are in there, are going to be big so the environment is nice, but still a bit dry this time of year even with humidifier.

Oh, all LC jars are fine, Pinhead mold just grabbed the last 2 jars, the Mexicana culture is pretty fast for Mexi, jumps off to grain in under a day with nice growth.  I have two jars of Nat and Mexi, just sitting on those for now, I doubt Mexicana would like this environment being on the wetter side of the spectrum.  No worries, I'm looking for stones anyway (first), then fruit them afterwards. Enjoy the day... while we play!

Hey folks, just an update here, I had to switch up my setup just a smidge, I've been running super high humidity, tight differential, and I'm not happy with what is going on in the tent.  Sparse fruiting, dry, yes DRY for hitting 97.5-98% humidity, even the slow constant 80mm fan is just killing the trays, so it kicks off when the fog does, and I opened up the bottom of the tent for passive air.  I'm going to run it this way for a stint and see, but I'm shredding water to keep up, which is fine, it's a huge tote and I can go a week without adding water, but fruits aren't developing like I want, I don't think I can solely blame CV+, not enough runs or experience with it, but my current trays are manure, it's what I know and used to.  CV+ might be just a little slow for my taste with Pans.  I do like how easy it is to do CV+, but they may be the extend of it at this point, nothing definitive yet.

The NAT jar seems to be stalling a little, I hope not, but I shook it again to see, this time of year is ROUGH.  I don't know if I'll run the tent next Summer, maybe some Pink Oysters or something, but the struggle is real, and I have a 3-disc fogger.  I wiped the trays, hydrated them, and new settings, that's the cool thing, you can clean the slate, and go at it again with pans.  Big fat pins happening, but few and far between, too much air will cause this, I know this from previous attempts and data.  I'll get it where I want, but the 80mm constantly on, killing my surface, no bueno.  Take ER' easy!

Hey, thanks for stopping by, I try to keep things as real as possible, whether it's a slight failure, or complete success, we all fall down doing this long enough, but it gets easier to lose projects to the mold/bacterial gods, it stings less and less the more you do, and it's mainly for the thrill of the harvest.  I usually have plenty of fruits, so it's overkill most of the time.  I just wanna GROW... my sisters and Bro's.

Well, the camera died the other day, hopefully it's just the battery, but it's an old dinosaur so who knows.

I cased up the Blue Springs tray last night; it's sitting in a tub, and I'll throw it in the chamber in the morning.  I will also case up the Eungai, it's only slightly slower than the B Springs, but I finally got a white ice cream looking surface with Pans with the Blue Springs, the Eungai looks like the normal wispy growth I'm used to with Peace River.

The Ingeli tub is doing good, fast on grain, slower to bulk, but it's not a Pan so it's never going to compete that way.  I wouldn't say it's slow, about like a Cube maybe, today is 5 days complete, and I don't see any issues.

I'm going to be up front with you, once you go with a Tent, it's hard to go back, but I still do tubs here and there, keeps me grounded and makes me remember where I started on my journey with all sorts of mushrooms.  I enjoy the challenge of exotics, and edible woodie blocks are my main pleasure, and reasoning for a tent. I can grow most in a tub, but this 3-disc fogger, is just too much fun.  Rougher ambient conditions this time of year, but doable... no doubt.  Let me know if you need any help, or what sort of style of tent you are going with.  I have had numerous different configurations over the years; they all can be made to work; it's just how you go about it, and getting the feel for your new equipment is part of the learning curve.
