Alcohol poisoning
    #29624607 -

Think I may have had alcohol poisoning or close. Drank a bunch of liquor and some beers a week ago, forgot to eat any food at all that day, so my stomach was completely empty. I didn't plan on drinking but it ended up happening. I had no problem walking and everything. I didn't puke any of it up.

Was really sick for like 4 days, is that normal? Had such bad brain fog never felt it before also couldn't chew or swallow food easy. Total loss of appetite for days and lost a bunch of wight from it, multiple pounds. Got so fatigued I couldn't function, any small task would have me dieing. So I just slept non stop for days and days. I'm always high energy too, so it was scary. Drank a lot of liquor

It was a fun time otherwise. I'd quit drinking for a long time otherwise. Months to years. It was extremely unsettling being so sick after. As a kid I wouldn't have been hungover

I used to get so drunk I couldn't stand. Would get the spins and lay in my own piss paralyzed. It wouldn't phase me too bad after

Have you ever had alcohol poisoning?

In all honesty man for your well being it sounds like you're someone who should be avoiding alcohol altogether. And based on what your experiencing from drinking now I'd say your body agrees with me.πŸ€·πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½πŸ„πŸ©·

I've had alcohol poisoning.  You need to slow down and eat food all the way. Eat heavy meat after a bender as it helps your red blood cells regrowth in your liver.

I guess i will quit drinking unfortunately, must have been the empty stomach. I drank Tuesday evening well into 5am Wednesday morning. went to a doctor on friday and got a bunch of blood work done. I was too ashamed to tell them i drank that much i just said I didn't feel good. They checked all kinds of stuff in my blood.

I didn't feel good until I went to a party late on Saturday night but I just kept a empty bottle of Gatorade in my hand that I'd re fill with water, i just smoked some weed was all. I was offerd lots of drinks but I told them I went too hard with it the other day and I couldn't. It's really just about drinking on something for me, so water it is. The party made me feel better, I think I was also making myself sick from anxiety. Talking with friends made me relax a lot.

At least i can be around drinking and not partake. I could've handled it if I ate something besides a bit of fruit on that Tuesday. We party pretty hard regularly

I missed a week of work because of it. I go back soon & still feel a lot of shame. At least no one knows exactly what happened. That's why I'd just stick with beer in the past. It's way harder to get that fucked off of. I seemed ok to those I was partying with at least, just intoxicated. I Passed out in my shed that morning on all these chair cushions

You're right though I am somone who really shouldn't be drinking because I have been in trouble from it in the past. So if I drink in the future this will probably happen again multiple times

If a hangover happened sometimes we'd just get fucked up the next day to cure it.

Anonymous you sound young, but no matter:  take it from me you should avoid alcohol.  I know its fun.  I know its a great anxiety reliever (on the upward side of the equatoon), and youre sold all kinds of promises by marketing executives and, subconsciously, by other drinkers that alcohol is good and fine and has positives.

As someone with an alcohol problem who still drinks let me make one thing very clear:  it is a neurotoxic hard drug that is harmful to every cell in your body.  It is highly addictive (especially if you have underlying anxiety) and it is good for nothing.  It doesn't just alter your behaviour whilst under the influence of it...you reap the illness of its effects after your body has flushed it out.

There's not much else I can say about that, nor should i.

You sound like someone who should quit drinking, at least for a period of time.  I sincerely hope you will my friend.  There's nothing but misery down that road.  Nothing.

Alcohol stops development. Most drinkers are stuck in the time period of when they started to drink. It stops us in time.

Early 30s. Psychedlics had me stop drinking forever I'd tripped a lot even got hooked on it a bit. I was just feeling good after eating shrooms over that weekend before this happened. A friend gave me shrooms at a party we all ate them together. I hadn't been able to trip much after a death of somone close

Lsd got me to quit drinking for so many years

I'd love to just stick with a drink or 2 but I don't think I can, it seems to come to all or nothing. At least I am friendly handle alcohol way better than when I was a lot younger anyway. I'm thankful to still be young

Just got to take it as a lesson

Haven't had this kind of anxiety since I was a teenager which was when I was drinking the hardest

I drank relatively hard between the ages of 17-20. Usually every weekend I would somehow get enough money to split a quart or get a pint of hard liquor, usually whiskey, and I would mix it with ginger ale soda. Gradually I got accustomed to cannabis, and then my mushroom and lsd trips put me in a state of mind where I lost interest in alcohol completely.

However, there was no happy ending for me as I couldn't find my position in university, work or anywhere, really.

Being sober, I found the motivation to go back to school, I enrolled in university, managed to complete the first year of it, but I could never follow through or complete my studies due to intense anxiety.

I kept stumbling up against misunderstandings with people and it seemed something was missing inside me, something that I needed.

I no longer drink alcohol, or smoke cannabis and I see the mushrooms and lsd as a kind of one-and-done kind of experience, it's not something that requires repetitive usage.

Nowadays it's just coffee and cigarettes for me, along with anti-psychotic abilify and ativan and zopiclone for sleep.

I never achieved a happy ending, rather, instead, I'm just managing my symptoms via the help of the professionals, pharmacists, nurses, doctors, family.  I'm a shadow of my former self.

Wish you much love and peace :mushroom2:

Yeah i get it with the psychedelics. They're just drugs too, not some holy grail or cure. I mostly just like the taste of all types of alcohol. It sucks. Beer is like sunny delight, even whisky or whatever tastes pretty good straight on some ice. I don't care about the effects of alcohol, it's honestly just drinking on something or the taste of it all itself

Nice icey water is good I got 2 cups of it right now on accident, I'm thankful for my 2 cups of water they mean a lot. I guess I'll take up tea drinking. Some peach ice tea

I had crippling anxiety as a young kid it was detrimental to so much of my life. As I aged it went away, It'll be away. Just got to be here now & breath, stuff like that.

Ive had alcohol poisoning before, it's one of the worse feelings a person can experience, imo.. but still not as bad as a perforated appendix, not by a mile ...

I have found a sweet spot in life of 2 glasses of scotch (1.5 shots each), and then 2 beers (4.7% abv). I dont need anymore than that and have found a good routine of knowing that when those drinks are done, im going to bed. Anytime I drink past that - if I want to stay up for instance - I end up regretting it the next day. But those 4 drinks and decent sleep, and theres no problems.

I think the most difficult part for a lot of people is knowing when to stop, and having the diligence to not only make the plan before you start drinking (to eat well before, hydrate during, sleep well after, and take b vitamins), but also follow through on it. Like X drinks is your goal, X+1 is not an option. Hard stop. If you cant do that, maybe alcohol isnt the drug for you.

Hope you feel better man, youll be ok!
