I know, the black "economist". They f'ing love him.

He has very legitimate academic credentials, but It seems like such an easy route to national recognition, being a black conservative.

He says he was a Marxist before 1960.

Whenever I think of the DSA I think of Zohran Mamdani becoming the mayor of NYC. A lot can change in six years.

Tea Party didn't fizzle out. They made friends with neocons and evangelicals and became MAGA. So you're right that we have no idea if the Democratic Socialists of America will themselves amount to anything, but their leaders will probably play a large role in the future American Left.

I wonder if there’s any difference between an astroturfed populist campaign run by the oil industry and an actual left populist organization.

And like islandss said: they didn’t fizzle out. They took over all 3 branches of the federal government.

Dragging kicking and screaming sounds like you're building the camps and need to fill them with people who disagrees with the message.
