They were bred from African wildcats after they were domesticated.
My cat doesn't look like an African wildcat.

Vs this

Yes we did breed cats. So that's the end of that.
That also has nothing to do with what we're actually debating which is whether people should just be letting their cats murder all of the birds and small animals in their neighborhoods because they don't care and they would rather not let their cat live a life inside because it's a domesticated pet.
I.e. which is why I see dead cats every year because people do not do their best to keep them inside when they do not have survival skills.

What kinda space are you looking to use in new area?

Sorry never saw this.

I’ll actually have a room to myself. Should be able to turn it into an everything room.

What's up cool cats

I confess I've been inattentive, with a mess of my own making & discouraged by a mite infestation over the past year or two that has made cult quite difficult. It doesnt help that my strategy was primarily "do nothing" with a bit of "let everything fester and just don't go in that room and acknowledge it". Turns out that doesnt work

July approaches, and for some reason that month always makes me want to get to work. So I spent all weekend clearing out the space & bleaching everything. Don't know if the mites are gone or if they just partied in my spoiled cult trash for a year. Hopefully bigger, badder mites with anchor tattoos showed up and ate them all. At any rate I poured some plates and am trying to revive some stuff that was in long term storage. Wiped everything down well and put em straight into ziplocs after so if my place is still infested maybe they won't be able to get in as easy.

I'm not destitute but still lost a lot of cool shit- some basic stuff that I was proud of from working it for many years, as well as some more rare and exotic stuff sent to me by generous people on here who figured I'd take care of them. I didnt, and feel pretty bad about that

Anyway, got restarted at least, something will shake out soon hopefully. Also, hi  missed ya

Cats are strays n wild around here for most part because some old lady 50 yrs ago thought it was a smart idea to collect cats n have no fam or relatives or something n perished leaving a dozen to turn into 10+ :facepalm3: I could only wish the cats where slightly domesticated these r all feral n more aggressive than a house cat with free reigns to the outdoor

We like to pretend we’ve domesticated the wolf and the felines.

But watch what happens when the owner dies and they don’t get feed anymore. They have no problem eating the corpse for survival.

Yeah let's all just queue up for the suicide booth.
:meh:
If you look at how fast technology proliferates a population I can imagine a lot of scenarios where we don't all burn to death as long as we try not to.
I would say nihilism isn't gonna help anybody so we shouldn't be giving up yet while we're still alive.

+1 for Breakin’. That one doesn’t get enough recognition.

They weren't bred, they were fed. Domestication syndrome dictates that some individuals started to look more like human babies (big eyes, high forehead etc) and were fed even more. We love to feed animals that look like human babies. They tap into an oxytocin positive feedback loop that's in place to make us endure the terrible nighta our offspring gives us. Same lock, different key. This co-evolution went so far they (and dogs even to a higher degree) can even read human facial expressions by now.

No one bred anyone here. They tapped into our compassion system. All the monstrosities we eat were bred. Look at how they are deformed in a functional, not cute way. We kill those monstrosities, industrial scale, every day.

Yet I'm not spraying you animal-eaters with a garden hose. Neither do I spray the cats.
