I remember it those times well. Monotubs are great but automatic Monotubs in op posts aren't the way.  Greenhouse with one humidifier and one forced air heater on one plug is best automation you can grow on. Clean air is a myth, your biggest outside contamination vector is gnats/other flys.

It’s the KISS rule - Keep It Stupid Simple.

I use Micropore tape on my exchange ports just because my wife’s indoor plants can’t seem to be cured of fungal gnats. One strip across a string of small holes and call it a day. Lost one too many tubs to those rat bastards to skip that step anymore.

And that is even with fly traps and such in my grow room! Tape solves the problem.

To your point I also don’t run 48 tubs at a time. That is madness and I’m here for it. 🤣

DAY 5



I think my mycelium is advancing pretty fast.
Only concern is when I wake up in the morning and I see that room temperature is 29 *C, then I quickly trun on Air Condition, I'm not running it over night. :crazy:

I've been searching for about this... People say it is rhizomorphic mycelium. Is it trying to tell me something? Some people say it is a sign that it needs air, but considering my relatively low moisture inside the tub, I'd say that it has plenty of air.
It is strange to me that mycelium was relatively slow during colonization in the grain, and now in the substrate, it is so aggressive.

Are the lids on your monotubs airtight and gasketed, or is there passive air exchange happening through them? I'm asking because I run unmodified 10L shoeboxes with a 5cm substrate depth and standard non-gasketed lids, and even though I keep them closed throughout the process, my substrate still loses moisture rapidly. I live in an area that gets around 30°C (86°F) and the air is somewhat dry, though not quite a desert. I'm considering placing my shoebox inside a SAB set up as a water tub to help retain moisture better—this should work, right? Do you have any advice?
