Yes, I remember seeing a fruit on some cardboard way back when no one believed me because I didn't have a pic.

Once that myc gets going, it can be very resilient.

I am with you george I have actually used cardboard as a growth medium to see if it would work and it did.  I mean why else would you put a wood in a culture slant, it gives the mycelium something to eat so that it will stay alive longer in the slant..

Next picking season I will take some pics of wild cubes growing from old rotten logs.  It really isn't a miracle.

So lets see all these straight wood grows! where are they?

How was the fruiting on straight wood?

The key is the wood is old and rotten and its nutrient profile is not the same anymore, its becoming compost.

Now your arguing semantics.  I tell you I find them growing on downed logs in the wild and all of a sudden that doesn't count as wood because it is beginning to compost !!  It is still growing from a log.

You really don't have a clue do you bro.

RR can get cubes to grow on just about anything.  I have gotten them to grow on coir, poo, straw, sawdust, cakes, cardboard, and tongue depressors.

spores are close to the density of metal and will easily survive the digestive tract of the cow, buffalo, or any other grass eating animal.
These spores are what causes the dung of the animal to become colonised.
There is no cubensis mycelium in the ground. Period.

Go find some wild cubes growins straight out the ground then tell me why they are doing that.  It is because of the mycelium mass under the soil

:haha: so spores are just like eggs huh?

now I know you dont know what your talking about.

FACT: the largest living organism on the planet is a mycelial network miles long in the NW territory.

hes trolling guys, why waste your finger tips trying to explain this to someone who obviously doesnt know the 101 on mushrooms. :mushroomgrow:
