bluesky was a response to twitter being purchased by a fascist and being used to push fascistic/white christian nationalist beliefs.  when people could no longer manage their timelines without twitter overriding it to push elon trash at the users, they left for something with decentralized infrastructure and a feature set that actually respects the end user.

good timing on this story, with all of the dumbass maga influencers totally-not-coordinating in pushing for the ballroom trump wants built.  remember when we we told it wasn't going to cost taxpayers a dime?

yeah weird how a week or so after the administration is told they can't have the ballroom without a security justification, there was this "assassination attempt" and the first thing trump says is how much he needs a ballroom, followed by the usual trump dick suckers on twitter/etc all immediately parroting similar verbiage about needing a ballroom. and now republicans just happened to have a bill ready to go to hang the cost for this ballroom on the American taxpayer.

again, this was a ballroom that is supposed to go where the east wing of our white house was before trump immediately demolished it for a $400 million ballroom no one asked for and none of us will ever be allowed near - a ballroom trump claimed wasn't going to cost the American taxpayers a dime (outside of the ridiculous upkeep costs that he never mentions).

meanwhile if you're an American, it is likely that every single expense in your life has gone up in the past 15 months and you have nothing to show for it.

Ahhh an assassin shoots an officer, not fatally and the would be assassin doesn't get a scratch on him and now there's a bill for 400 million dollars for the Whitehouse ballroom that's rumored to have a brand new bunker underneath. Reminds me of DB cooper. Bomb threat scary, no one got hurt BB was never found. He had to be a high level spec ops trained guy to achieve that then weeks later they pass a bill to beef up the FAA
and check people for weapons and bombs. No one gets hurt and they get what they want.

better than that, the secret service supposedly fired 5 rounds at the guy before taking him into custody without a scratch.

so now they claim that we need a $400 million dollar ballroom because the secret service failed to secure an event that has happened every year for over 100 years, and that trump has only attended once out of his five years in office.

I do enjoy the conspiracy part of the argument, but the shooter was a teacher in Torrance, and now that life he had is over.

What would his motivation have been to commit such an act? Do some people just want to go to prison for the rest of their lives? So Trump can get a ball room?

No idea could be legit. There's certainly alot to be pissed at trump about and it could've just been remarkably lucky decisive action by secret service.

But as far as motivation if it is a conspiracy the government can either hold something heavy over you, compensate you a different way. There's alot that could be motivation.
