In other news... even if it's illegal for non-citizens to vote, up until now they have been counted in the census which determines the numbers of House seats in any given state. This is one of the many reasons so many democrats pretend to care about Trump's mass deportation plan... because they know if they can no longer count non-citizens on the census, it's pretty much Game Over for them in the House.

Trump had something to say today about plans I've seen in the works for a while now. Even without any gerrymandering, once the new census is complete by 2026, the House is estimated to lose more than a dozen, perhaps two dozen Democratic seats. The reason for this is there's going to be 2 categories for the census, and illegal aliens and non-citizens won't be counted toward a population's size inflating the House seats as it has up to this point... so you can bet you're going to see democratic pushback despite the fact there is no good excuse for this practice having gone on for as long as it has. Most of the leaders of the House don't actually care about non-citizens, they just happen to be their pawns to stay in power.

If a dozen or more representatives in the House are going to lose their seats due to a new census, you bet they'll come up with all kinds of "moral" reasons why the new census is racist or evil. Good thing most of America isn't falling for that bullshit any longer.

They've been playing unfairly for so long, they've forgotten what fair play even looks like.

Not the way you've worded it, no.

But it could absolutely be a strategic gift of goodwill that Trump likes and will also net them far more back. Unlikely that thing cost more than around 100k, which is really pennies for Trump. The aesthetic is really nice though.

I've seen the data floating around about it being an estimated 1-2 dozen House seats in question nationwide, all propped up by counting non-citizens on the census. I didn't think to pin the data down yet, but as soon as something floats my way again, I'll share it.

this redistricting shit going to backfire on them here in Texas.... I've talked to so many republicans that are voting democrat in the midterms because a lot of us Texans are just flat out tired of Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick and Ken Paxton...they've forgot they work for the citizens and not the highest donor

I'm staying out of the gerrymandering argument until I know more about it. I'll only say that any law or system that discriminates based on race is archaic and needs to go.
