I don't exactly have faith from the people that believe(d) Trump is/was a Nazi to properly explain to me what "real" fascism is.

I can tell you what it is NOT, however: MAGA.

The largest fascist moment our country has had in a long time is when they shoved Kamala Harris in front of Democratic voters and refused to give them a primary. Textbook. "forcible suppression of opposition." Hardly any one complained, either. They just bowed their heads and said, "...okay."

Last I checked, Trump won the popular vote, IS the POTUS, and is doing exactly what he promised to run on. In fact, I can easily say I've never seen a President so quickly and so effectively fulfill most his campaign promises toward his people, and then some.

Every single person I know that voted for Trump is over the moon with his overall accomplishments, which includes bringing peace to almost a dozen countries now and stopping wars that had raged on for decades. Most of my friends on social media feel the same.

Name one "fascist" thing Trump has done to America.

Well lets see.

He constantly circumvents the will of the people and stacks the deck in favor of conservatives loyal to him over everyone else in the country. The supreme court is supposed to be a 50/50 split of ideology.

That way on controversial issue at least 1 republican would have to rule in favor of democrats and vise versa. Instead he put a majority in there that are loyal to him and unwaveringly conservative. And thats for the rest of their lives. That could take 50+ years to rectify. The Supreme Court is now a biased joke.

He wants America to be pushing Christian values when freedom means being able to choose whatever values you want to choose. Thats pretty fascist.

He pulled funding for colleges because students were using their free speech to say things he didn't like. Thats pretty fascist.

He asked people in power to find votes for him so he could win no matter what the people wanted- fascist

Instead of urging Texas Republicans to try and win the votes of the people to get seats ie: reaching across the isle, taking a more moderate approach, addressing the concerns of democrat voters to try and win the 5 seats he wants to secure in Texas to maintain a majority he just told them to rig the system and redistrict the living crap out of Texas so democrats votes dont matter.

Thats circumventing the will of the people to get what he wants. Thats textbook fascism. If Biden or Obama urged a state to redistrict so they could guarantee that democrats took those seats to secure their majority you'd be calling that fascist but because you agree with it you dont care and applaud it.

Trump had the popular vote, what do you mean he circumvents the "will of the people?" Those that voted for him are getting exactly what they want. That's how elections work.

Quote:

Trump didn't make the rules, he just inherited them and has been playing the game the way every president prior to him played with SCOTUS. Why would a President pick a SCOTUS nominee that would push against the agenda he was voted in for?

Quote:

While I agree many people surrounding Trump are doing this, I disagree that Trump himself does. He's hosted gay weddings at Mar-a-Lago. Yes, he's mentioned God and even Jesus a few times, but he avoids the topic for the most part.

And for what it's worth, I fully expect the time is soon going to come when I'm going to be pushing against MAGA harder than the left (we're getting close, actually...), and I will be on your side about the religious issues once we're talking about that again and not the pedophiles that have infested our institutions for so long.

Until the bigger fish are fried, I have to stay hitched to this horse. But I'm more Dark MAGA like Elon, honestly. There are larger problems that I expect to be dealt with in short order and once our nation's existential crisis is no longer looming over our head, I can't wait to start debating the right on abortion, drugs and keeping Jesus and the Bible out of schools again.

Quote:

Incorrect. Trump can do what he wants to with that kind of federal funding just like you can fire an employee that says bad things about you, the employer. If Trump was to attempt to *shut them down* or sabotage them in some other way, then THAT would be fascism. All he did though was basically say, "If you're going to say bad things about me, why should I be giving you our money?"

Pulling federal funding ≠ fascism.

Quote:
He asked people in power to find votes for him so he could win no matter what the people wanted

This one is hearsay, and even if something like it is true, it likely has been taken out of context. There's no proof at all that Trump ever implied he wanted anyone to fabricate votes for him so he could win an election.

Gerrymandering is a game both sides of the isle play and have for decades. You can't just accuse Trump of being fascist, you'd have to accuse thousands of politicians of the same. The dems have more recently been involved in gerrymandering that favored them, so you can't call Trump a fascist for doing the exact same thing. I also believe that gerrymandering based on race and dividing people up into districts that way is wrong, and that's something that has been allowed to happen for too long and needs to change. I'm tired of people like Jasmine Crockett claiming segregated districts are important. No. They are not. We did away with Jim Crow laws decades ago and I don't wanna hear Lil Miss Crockpot talk about how segregation is actually a good thing that benefits society. (The reality is, it just benefits her.)

So to answer your question, I've known about gerrymandering for 20 years and I find it amusing that people are freaking out about it for the first time in their lives just because Trump is doing it. It's adorable.

This administration has used threats of ending government contracts to force the largest law offices in this country to stop working on liberal causes and provide free work on conservative causes.  That should alarm everyone, because if one administration can do it, why can't the next, and maybe you don't agree with the next admins policies as much as you do this one's.

Let me ask a question. If Trump is playing by the rule of Law as well as the rules of the Constitution & our other founding documents, how is that Fascism?

Is the argument Trump is breaking the law if he does this, or is the argument that *despite* the fact Trump is playing within the definition of the Law, the Law ITSELF is fascist?

This is a good argument and not without merit. If you can give me more specifics, I could give you a better answer. I will say for now, however, that I agree Trump is taking a big gambit with the way he is operating and setting precedents that will be remembered for... probably centuries to come. Maybe millennia.

That's a big claim.
Do you have any evidence to indicate that Trump has only "played" within the bounds of what is constitutional and lawful or is that just a vibe you get?  Maybe it's something you're manifesting?  It's hard to tell with you.

Sidelining and pulling funding from media outlets that Trump doesn't like is fascism.

Sacking workers who produce statistics that go against Trump's claims is fascism.

Trump has been very compliant with the courts overall. He fight legal battles and he fights them hard. If someone wants to suggest any move he is making is AGAINST the law, I'm happy to listen to the argument, but the burden of proof isn't on me.

Are these government employees? Is this government funding?

It's not fascism.

If people don't like the results in 3 1/2 years then they vote in the other direction, just as our system was intended to operate in the very beginning.

I really shouldn't take this bait... but I can't help my self.

Trump (probably) had sex with a hooker in 2006. Don't care. So have I. Weeks before the election, word got back to Trump she might spill the beans which would have impacted the election, and they arranged a deal. Perfectly legal, even though it all makes me roll my eyes. (She definitely got her money's worth out of banging Trump. As I said, 50 Shades of Grey.)

Trump got all 34 felony counts in ONE case... not due to any *sex* crime with Stormy, and *not* for paying her money, but simply because he supposedly had his lawyer pay her and then "reimbursed" him through the company as to not be directly associated with it, and THAT was technically illegal.

It's the dumbest shit ever. 34 counts just because there were (allegedly) 11 invoices,
12 ledger entries, and 11 checks, which = 34 and they slapped a felony charge on him for every one... over a total of (allegedly) a measly $130,000.

Moral of the story? Don't bang famous hookers if you're rich and worried about your reputation.

It was one of Trump's dumbest moments. But the whole "34 counts of felony charges" is overblown. Nobody was harmed, Stormy got a nice payout playing the 50 Shades of Grey game very well, and Trump is still the POTUS.

Your opinion of the particular crime(s) is irrelevant.

Trump is a known convicted criminal on 34 felony counts.  Your assumption that he's some paragon of legal virtue is clearly, objectively unfounded.

But go ahead and write another essay about it if that would make you feel better.
