Had something similar in my collage days, used it to turn whine to shine.

Hehe. Nice. Yeah, well, I think I can't do that with a soxhlet, but with this beauty I think I can: https://eur.vevor.com/water-distiller-c_10700/4l-water-distiller-temperature-controlled-distilled-1-l-h-premium-countertop-p_010716887488. I'm thinking of buying that one as well, also to make the mushroom extract more concentrated. And without the need to keep the cooking pan under observance all the time.

Is shine from wine any good? What about eh headaches? And is it cheaper than buying something like mid-range vodka?

>Is shine from wine any good?

No. Unless you are just into shine. Liquor distilled from wine is brandy. To me it's all just as nasty as from corn mash. It's prevalent in my area. Once you get good and smashed on it, can't even stand the smell.

OK. I can scrape that off my bucket list then.

So I went for the PC, looking like it’s a “Guardian service” brand pressure canner, possibly from the 1940’s, give it take a decade.
Gotta say though that the rubber seal is in good pliable condition, Not cracked or brittle. Though little bits did rub off the edge like an eraser almost.
I don’t think that will be much of a concern under standard usage however.
Going to run it carefully first before I go all in.

I can fit 5 qts at once using the trivet from my power xl, along with a variety of other smaller jars in various configurations. 1/2 pints, 1/4 pints fuck I can even jam a 500ml media bottle in.

Hopefully this thing holds its own as the promise of 5qts+ of material compared to 4 pints (in 3 hours) sounds fucking amazing.

Just replaced my 10 year old 23 quart canner with a brand new one, glad the old one had lasted me that long! It started to not hold pressure properly and I'm pretty sure the bottom pitted out one time when the gauge wasn't working properly and lack of water inside as well (almost blew my place up :lolsy:)

Feels good having a new one back up and running!

Blender jar for making LI made via Mudafuka's LI Tek. The drill bit next to it allows me to blend using my impact gun, saved me from buying a whole Oster blender

Just curious if you tried replacing the gasket and over-pressure plug first. Those seem more likely to be the cause of failed pressurization than the aluminum itself, unless you ran it dry and seriously warped it right before you started having issues. (Even then, extreme heat could damage a piece of rubber before it actually warps aluminum.)

Maybe worth checking even now - having two PCs isn't a bad thing.

Big ass bag of finely shredded wheat straw. So much bigger than I expected. It's gonna take me a while to turn all of this into trichoderma. 😆

I just got my giant bag of vermiculite today and am in the same boat!  It was either 18 quarts for $34USD at a local place or $55USD for 120 quarts on the ‘zon.

Lol, yeppers pricing gets silly sometimes. But, hey! We've got a couple years worth of supplies on hand now. 😂
