I feel this. My last ebb has been broken up by LAGM 2025, since that put some pressure on me (or I put it on myself). Either way, Ive been back at it, and having some results! I downshift pretty good in the winter anyway. Like a reptile on a cold night - still alive and kickin, but going nowhere fast. I was kinda shitty all the time and then way worse in the winter, and now Im 90% good the rest of the year and kinda shitty in the winter, so it feels more jarring now - more noticeable, impactful, whatever. I had a good thing going with my mental health and while I dont feel BAD, I feel like I lost the mojo I had, if that makes sense. I at least never had a "mostly good" period before, so it didnt feel like I was losing anything when winter just made shit worse. I feel like I'm missing out now. Oh well...things have been much worse in the past, so I try to remain grateful anyway. šŸ¤™

I confess I have never vented my PC even once and didn't even know what it meant until the last couple of weeks.

I wonder if "unvented contamination" is more likely with certain grains over others. I've never really had much contamination issues that I traced back to the grain not being sterile coming out of the PC.

I'm going to vent from now on, however! Just in case.

Ive noticed how much my ambitions kinda blinded me to the amount of work this can be too. As much as I love it, it's a bit of time sink, and things like grain prep, making plates, spawning tubs etc aren't really all that exciting. I am CONSTANTLY doing dishes too. Lol it can be a lot of work, and sometimes the obligation and schedule of it all can cause a bit of burnout maybe? Idk...

My mojo always kicks back in when my stash is running low. Usually around 4oz, then I’m like fuck I gotta refill the coffers! I’m the complete opposite of some of you guys. I prefer growing in the winter and not in the summer. Keeps me from getting the winter blues. Plus I’m traveling in the summer just about every other week and that’s a headache trying to time shit

I vent!!! I re-read Bod’s PC tek every single time I pull out my PC. I put in just a little over 3 quarts of near-boiling water and then vent for even a few extra minutes! I even have the silicone lube at hand. For all the crap I am lazy about, I treat my PC like it could actually turn into a bomb if I mess up.

That said, my oat prep last night…

Confession: A couple of weekends ago, I pulled out all of my stash minus a handful of microdose caps and shared with friends. It made me remember that putting that specific pressure on myself is very motivating.

I still lose shit all the time. Just not at an unacceptable rate. I’ve been losing tubs after the first flush a lot more lately. Not sure why but my grain jars have been on point lately. I’m well below 5% loss on my jars

Just visualize in your head when they say that they are really saying "we have no clue how to identify contamination, unless it is bright green."

That said I still suck at identifying contaminations so I judge no one!

For sure! I always think I’m good to go for a while and then like clockwork I’ll have friends hit me up out of the blue and then I’m ordering supplies for a new run.

My current projects:

AMVP
Albino Thai Pink Buffalo
PE (my first PE grow)
Ghost
Pan TTBVI
Pan Bispo

This weekend I’m happily jumping on the x7x+ bandwagon. I get extra chatty on here when I’m staring at slowly whitening agar plates and grain jars. You’ll know I have fruits when I get quiet, minus the occasional post to grumble about harvesting troubles.

OMG! He’s talking to me! *fan girl swaying*

This ain’t on you! I’m an idiot and got called into an urgent on camera work meeting. I turned the boiling water off before I went, but didn’t move to a different burner and it looks like just too many of my grains busted, causing a sticky mess. It didn’t look too too bad, so I PCed it, forgetting that if I didn’t dry the hell out of it the oats would continue to expand.

These were a little on the dry side, but proof I can do this better.

As an example..

This is most certainly due to spawn.

Be careful out there, folks.
