01.03.25:
I’m adding to my list some fancy wild strains from 3AM: Burringbar pan cyans, K.Leigh cubes and slippery/sharps crossing cubes. Just streaked to the plates today and hoping to see growth soon

Plate I dropped spores directly onto.

Plates I streaked spores onto with an inoculation loop.

So far the LME plates are showing growth sooner than my charcoal PDA plates, but it could just be more noticeable because I can backlight them.

This print was less than a week old as well, so I'm pretty sure that's why we are hitting the ground running.

With a lot of staring and some imagination, I think I see something germinating on a galindoi plate. In the pic it doesn't seem to show up however.

This plate... Don't do drugs, kids. Drugs are bad. For your ability to pour plates.

Semperviva from last year streaked. The "faht line." (I think he would insist on the parenthesis)  I'll be running it with ghost, kodama. The swab set I actually received from a buddy forever ago. ps. subtropicalis. The serial number on the packaging had "666" in it. A buddy of mine also streaked some gymnopilus for me. Purpuratus and Luteofolius. It's a collaborative lagm effort this year. Will update OP.

Late start for me, but I put these on sorghum agar today.
They look better than the pics- there’s some condensation and a lump in one plate, these were the only plates that I had left. (I thought I had more)
I made new plates today to be ready for next week.

Nats/Ochra - spores from one of my grows
P.Cyan PHV. Bisporus, Semp- spores gifted to me from the amazing members here.

I have all of these already going on agar or on grain currently, so this is also an insurance policy if any of those don’t work out.

I love the idea of a collaborative grow. In fact, I've been actively trying to make this happen. Hopefully next year's LAGM will see TEAM KLARN in full swing!

Eating the pioppinos now, but plucked this one yesterday to get spores.

Today they will go to agar. Super fresh spores!

I like the idea a lot. Everyone could agree to grow out prints they either got from a friend or other member, but nothing in their current collection or from a vendor. Oooh, bonus if people don’t even know what they are growing except “cube” or “pan” or “wood lover”. Just enough info so they have a chance to get the prep and environment right.

I'm also really charmed by the idea. For the past 14, 15 years I've only met other cultivators twice (excluding the people with a growkit, growkits are fairly common around here). Finally, other enthousiasts! It's also really cool to catch glimpses of other people's lives and see the similarities. Like kloakk reading bedtime stories to his kids while the PC rattles, so recognizable. Or Alaskappalachian being perfectly aware of what to do, then dumping big lumps of spores anyhow. (I thought that was some stupid habit of mine that no one else had). I was pretty confident about my processes, but feel like a total noob now and have been learning way more in the past months than in the years prior. But it's really cool to see people I look up to, dabble in a little noobery or intoxicated behavior themselves...

@RoscoeReturns, by the time I'm eligible for the marketplace, I'd love to trade something for a pioppino print. Tried to grow them once, but failed miserably when I spawned everything at once to fresh poplar, which contaminated wildly.

Chestnut mushrooms! They taste amazing roasted over hot coals in butter with a little cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg, and rosemary.

Those are indeed gorgeous.
You cultivate those or forage?

I wanted to grow gourmets but it never gets cold enough where I live. If I can ever pull the cash together I’ll get some kind of rigged wine fridge for the purpose.

LAGM pic tax: My pan cyan and bispo plates currently doing nothing working at only the microscopic level.

Cultivate. They are pretty easy.

I grew warm weather strains of shiitake when I lived in Florida. They grew fine in mid to high 70’s. I also grew oysters. May not be ideal, but if it’s just to say you did it, it can be done. I don’t think I’d try to grow to sell in that environment.
