Sounds like some dry cuts of meat. There’s a reason why brisket is such a bitch to cook right, and it’s due to a lack of fat.

I will. If they found a way that I could harvest, grow, and safely eat my own meat from myself or a cow or something to where I could continuously grow it I would eat that too :wonka:

That's called breeding livestock.

Who said I was gonna cook it? If I could cultivate it safely in a non contaminated area I could probably just eat that shit raw

I'd argue the products of human are natural, even if that goes against the traditional definition of the word.

What's the linguistic purpose of stretching the definition to mean the antonym of the word? That feels like some neo hippie double speak.

Philosophically, nature operates all of the universe, including human. So why draw the line at what humans create? It's a definition that serves the ego, but not much else.

In the future, people will cultivate their discarded skin cells in home laboratories, née kitchens, producing pink, gelatin-based hydrogel discs that will fulfill their nutritional requirements. And they’ll drink their own pee, too. With the dream of complete self-reliance and independence from the natural world finally achieved, everyone will fashion nooses in unison and hang themselves from the rafters of their underground bunkers beneath the ruined, smoldering surface of planet Earth.

:super:

Pound for pound, the cells would consume as much materiel, excrete as much waste, and drink as much water, as factory farmed cattle.

*eats an ear of corn so genetically modified it looks nothing like it did in nature*

“Yeah man, meat is bad for you. It like rots in your colon, man. It’s poison.”

*peels a seedless banana 5x the size of a natural fruit*

“Yeah, it’s true meat was essential to human evolution. Yeah we crave animal fat. Yes, our brain development is pretty much owed to the available calories in meat.”

*burps up oreo sludge*

“But we definitely shouldn’t eat it now because NOW it causes disease suddenly. Why? I don’t know. The studies are ironclad.”

*Drinks a product made by coke, one of Ameria’s largest food study funders*

“You’re anti-science if you think meat is healthy. You’re in an information bubble, dude.”

*gets diabetes*

Do you realise that animals get pumped full of steroids and antibiotics? Animals are ripe with pollutants and artificial chemicals. And don't bring up free range animals; you can't feed the entire population on free range, organic meat. There isn't enough land mass.

Animals are also genetically modified you weird dude. You're a hypocrite. Animals are genetically engineered to produce more meat and better taste. Same with egg chickens. Chickens get fucked with to produce more eggs.

Why are you comparing Coke/products made by Coca (which is surely all just processed, junk food) to whole food, high quality carbohydrates. It doesn't compare. It isn't similar, like at all. Why in hell would Coca Cola sponsor studies to say you can drink Coca Cola. That's common sense.:rofl2:

Medical science hasn't just appeared suddenly. People are waking up to the fact that animal products aren't that great and we ARE waking the hell up

Coke owns a lot of different products just like Nestle. A lot of stuff is owned by both corporations and we buy it without even realizing that.

It isn't gonna happen. It was poppy pods tea. Last time I checked, which was 5 to 6 years ago, you can't even buy poppy pods in the UK now. Zero interest in doing other opiates or opioid.
I am real happy now. Hugely satisfied with life and content.

Are we posting on a website that encourages drug use? We all have our weaknesses. What do you use Kevin?
You cannot downplay veganism because I was addicted to poppy pods tea. How can you rationalise such a thought

I was literally just clarifying why I use say "recovering" instead of "recovered". When I talk about a relapse it's not a judgement. I'm talking about brain chemistry. I'm not super familiar with medical treatment in the UK but I had two friend's in Ohio that relapsed after being administered opiates in a medical setting. One was given morphine after a motorcycle accident and there was no indication of his opiate sensitivity in his medical files. The other friend was receiving a routine root canal and told his dentist well in advance that they were not to be given opiates and they still gave him some.

I'm thrilled that you're doing well and enjoy your life and I hope you remain opiate and meat free forever. I honestly don't even hate vegans. The actual vegans I know in real life are super chill and have never given me grief for not being vegan. I only encounter that stuff online.

As far as what I use, let me just start by saying I'm not better than anyone and never claimed to be. But I currently use weed and beer regularly and I indulge in a little blow and some lsd or mushrooms if there's a party going down. Historically I tried everything I could get my hands on at some point. I was thankfully not burdened with any kind of serious tendencies towards addiction. I only smoked or snorted heroin, never graduated to slamming it.

But yeah, I was just drawing a connection between your veganism and poppy addiction. Your cessation of both in the name of improving your health is great. I just have a problem with you extending that conclusion to me. When I was younger I had  much less healthy relationships with food and drugs but I'm older now and have sorted through my shit and have landed at a place where I'm eating higher quality food across the board and doing fewer, cleaner drugs when I do party.

Sure, on paper we could just grow enough plants to feed everyone but I wanna know the actual logistics of how that gets done in the real world. What happens when some cute rabbits or deer start eating all of the crops? Do you think it's possible to keep 8 billion people alive without shedding some blood? Are you gonna come stop me from breeding pigs? I just don't understand how you're gonna get the whole of human kind to stop eating animals.

Fat gives meat it's amazing texture and flavor.  For example, lean ground steak burger tastes like crap compared to 80/20.  Fat is wonderful.  Fat is satiating.  A spoonful of delicious healthy butter will keep you satisfied much longer than many other foods, such as a granola bar or a fruit & veggie smoothie.

I recall when I was younger the anti-meat crowd would rant on and on about how terrible hot dogs were because they contained organ meat.  They were hysterical and outraged that any human would eat organ meat.  Of course that is silly.  But millions buy into the hype and misinformation.  Humans have eaten organ meat for thousands of years.  It's healthy.

Before I worked on the farm and was simply a friend and volunteer I attended an event they were hosting that was catered by a food truck. They were serving an organ burger that contained heart, liver, and kidney and it was all from our neighbors cattle. I've never eaten any single item of food that's given me a greater shot of vitality than that organ burger. I felt fine if a little tired from harvesting rocks but that burger made me feel like I could have pulled the plow myself.

We have 30 hogs worth of hearts and livers in our freezer and I cannot wait for some chef to come through and do something spectacular with them. We also have a bunch of jowl meat but I really want to try that for the first time when we eventually roast a whole pig.
