I don't think I'm going to eat much meat anymore

Well, I've been on this diet lately, where I mostly eat greens and fruit and noodle type stuff.

I had meat today (a cornish hen) for the first time in a week and afterwards I felt so disgusting and nauseous. The meal wasn't appetizing to me at all. I feel like barfing just at the memory.

After eating no meat for awhile, suddenly it is very unappealing. Maybe I broke my meat-addiction. Who knows?

The next few months will tell.

I went on a vegetarian diet for a week.

I had a lot of gas. Just to forewarn you :smile:.

try eating tuna... to wing you back on meat... and cornish hens are a little whack too.. you need a nice piece of solid meat, not all greasy, like a chicken breast or something... kinda dry.

yeah, that cornish hen didn't sit so right with me. Right now, I just feel sickened by the thought of devouring meat. Not for any crazy anti-meat-nazi reasons or something, but just because when I ate it today it made me feel bad and made me wonder if I should abstain altogether.

Exactly. I love meat... but while I'm on mushrooms I hate eating meat.

Explain.

Since we have the products available to never have to consume harmful meat (lets see- foreign growth hormones, pesticides, antibiotics for starters), why should one eat meat if they have no ego-fulfilling desire (taste) to?

I eat organic chicken and fresh fish occasionally. Red meat is unnecessary.

There is no good health reason to eat meat anyways, try to just eat fish maybe and use some seed oils and nuts in your diet to get vital amino acids instead.

This thread was about 'meat' not 'red meat' I do believe last I checked a cornish game hen was a bird. That doesnt qualify as 'red meat' either.

So when you say she is doing herself a favor and I say 'hardly' that means exactly that.

Lets not get into this stupid meat vs veggie diet argument again. Its rather pointless.

People who know me well always act surprised when I eat meat. They always say they thought I was vegetarian, even when we've been through the same revelation before. It's just that I eat it rarely. On occasion I grill steaks, a bit more often I grill chicken, I bake/saute/grill fish fairly frequently. I have excellent vegetable based recipes for normally meat bearing dishes like mushroom-lasagna, or shiitake-chile, shiitake quesadillas, etc.

I don't really ever get queasy when I eat meat unless it's like fast-food burger or anything fried. I simply can't eat fried food without getting sick. I suppose this is a good thing.

well of course, but you know what i ment. its meat with little to none animal fat = no cholesterol = better health . of course white meat is ok too, i was talkin meat as in red meat.

Yeah, I've been on this diet trying to lose weight and haven't really had the opportunity or inclination to eat any meat for a while, so maybe that's why it upset my tummy.  I'll probably just eat it occasionally, and in extreme moderation.  :thumbup:

My friend sister lost some weight by stop eating meat and working out. She even stop eating chicken! But, she says she still craves it.

When my friend asked me what I thought of the movie, I said "Makes me hungry for meat". The next day I ravenously ate an all beef patty hamburger. But I was really stoned watching the movie and the thought of meat wasn't too appealing at the time.

lol, too much work for the ribs for me.
Never had veggie bacon.
My one of my friends had some veggie chicken stuff, and his friend ate it and was like. "This chicken taste good, but alittle different"
He didn't believe he ate the fake meat(as i like to call it) stuff.

Here's a little synopsis of the movie from IMDB:
A soldier in the Mexican-American war in 1847 is promoted to captain for his perceived bravery but soon transferred to a remote outpost in the Sierra Nevadas when the cowardly truth becomes evident. Well thats great but this subject has already been beaten to death, and back, and dead, and back times 1 billllllion and neither side is right :P  It boils down to a personal preference and tastes.  Technically, you can live without 987453987685985 other things too, doesnt mean you should or will.  Next up, wafers with every vitamin and protien and mineral you need.  All to save your local cow.
