Yup. It's also a fragile house of cards. If the modern food supply chains collapse most American's are utterly fucked.

If your argument for a vegan diet is that meat is unhealthy you’ve already lost. The only argument for a vegan diet is the ethical one, which I believe is a totally valid point of view. But no, meat is not bad for you.

People need to understand that nutritional science is one of the biggest guessing games on the planet. Lots and lots of correlation but no definitive causation. Was it the steaks John ate that gave him heart disease or the 5000 other habits he had? We’re just gonna say red meat because that’s what the study set out to prove.

If we weren’t supposed to eat meat, if it were bad for us, why are our bodies made to digest it primarily? Why, as a whole food, is it universally desired? Craved, even?

So you're not denying you can be perfectly healthy and competent on a whole food, plant based diet? Most of the planet thinks you'll drop dead if you're vegan. Can you digest meat? No it cannot!

Fibre is what humans are designed to eat; from nuts, seeds, legumes, grains, fruit and vegetables. Fibre feeds beneficial gastrointestinal microbiome.
There's also real proof, like quite literally proof, that eating a whole plant based food can reverse heart disease (same with diabetes and cancer)

EDIT:

Desired? Craved? People crave chocolate, biscuits, crisps, pizzas, burgers, fries and unhealthy food.... does that mean its alright?
From an evolution point why do people eat meat? because its a caloric dense food and full of fat, which our ancestors needed.. but not now.

Nope nope nope. If you think we can’t digest the food out stomachs are specialized to digest - meat - then the rest of your argument doesn’t hold water.

Also I specifically said whole food. Chocolate and meat are not comparable.

Read a little slower, type a little less.

 But you're trying to insinuate that if we have cravings and desires to eat meat then that makes its alright or healthy? Whole foods, junk food, processed or not...
All this science and research and you're just ignoring it all. I need to type less? Then you need to learn and read more.
I've provided all this real, genuine scientific evidence that isn't corrupted and all you omnivores are just ignoring it because "it is natural".

Did you know tobacco was once seen as healthy and natural? Then all the scientific evidence came in and now we all know it causes cancer and other shitty conditions.

You’re not reading what I’m typing. Read MUCH slower. Type WAY less.

Not to be impolite but you are just yappin. Whole foods are not comparable to processed foods in the same way water is not comparable to Diet Coke. Think for just a second before you start responding for goodness sake.

Another question, do you feel no sympathy for the animals that were created to be reared for food and the way we kill them?

A cow can feed a family of 4 for a year.  Do you feel sad for the many thousands of plants killed to sustain a vegetarian family?  I life is a life.  A death is a death.

The number of plants required to die for me to eat vegetables is way lower than those that will die to keep someone eating beef.

We require resources to live, but that doesn't mean we need to use as many resources as we can.

What did I misinterpret?

You said because we have cravings and desires for food means we should.
People have cravings for unhealthy food. Desires and cravings means nothing.
It does not matter if it's processed, junk food or lean meats. Cravings and desires does not mean it's acceptable.
Why are some people drawn to eat meat (along with dairy and eggs)? Because our bodies evolved to be drawn to caloric, high fat foods so our ancestors could survive.
You live in a first world country with access to internet.
Therefore, your cravings and desires to eat meat are no longer applicable and means your desires and cravings are no longer valid.

Believe it or not, some people do commit cannibalism in some remote parts of the world. Yummy, human meat... good for you. It's like.... totally natural.

Dude, my point is that eating a balanced diet that includes meat is healthy.

The notion that it is natural to eat meat is not bullshit. The species Homo sapiens evolved around 300,000 years ago and we’ve been eating meat the entire time.

I realise that you can survive on plant based products and that’s awesome, good for you. I hope I get there some day, but that doesn’t mean that eating meat in moderation is unhealthy.

And I’m not going to read any of your studies because I don’t need to. People have always eaten animal products and no significant harm to people has come from it. It’s unprocessed natural food.

If you think you’re going to revolutionise the human diet by saying that people have been eating stuff that is killing them for 300,000 years then I’d say you’re absolutely bonkers mate… and you probably drink alcohol lol

Chocolate and Diet Coke and processed foods were not eaten by our ancestors. It’s not comparable. Those processed foods have hacked our minds similar to how algorithms have hacked our minds to keep us online.

Meat as a part of a balanced diet is healthy.

The average life expectancy has increased, but lifespan itself hasn’t been much prolonged.
