Send Your Good Stuff My Way

In just a few moments I'm heading off to a place called Robertson's College to try weasling my way into one of their programs.  It's sort of like a job interview.  I will be writing an entrance exam, and attempting to impress a professor by misrepresenting myself as professional, serious, and law-abiding.  :grin:

Getting into this course is a pretty big thing for me.  If I do well today, I'll be moving into a townhouse apartment (see my SGC post), with my girlfriend, living off student loans until I complete the program.  After I complete the program, I'll have a job lined up which will earn me $50,000 per year.  After I save up some money, my girlfriend and I intend to get engaged and move to Toronto.

If I do not do well today, I will be working a minimum wage job for another year.

So if you have your crystals, or your smudge sticks, or your prayers, chants, wheels, gems, anything at all positive that you can emanate in my direction, the thought will be very comforting as I write the exam and interview with the examiner.

I just got the call:  I aced the test :eek: and am officially accepted!  :thumbup: :thumbup: :laugh:  :sun: :stoned:

All that's left to do now is qualify for a student loan.  That shouldn't be any trouble, because I am shit poor.  Once tuition is on the table, I'll be added to the class list, and begin orientation for the course which begins on September 4th.  The wheels are in motion, Jerry!  The WHEELS are IN MOTION.  (Italicized to inflect forward momentum.)

Work with the people in financial aid (or whatever they call it now).  Do everything you can to get on their good side... make sure they know your name and who you are... thank you cards, box of candies, etc...  The trick to college is greasing the wheels... brown-nosing... politics... the more you do to make the extra little effort, the better the rewards will be... and a little bit can go a very long ways when you least expect and most need it.  :smile:  Again, congrats!

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.
