Thank you for the head's up because I surely would've done the same thing! Hope it wasn't too deep, sheesh. Well, maybe the heat cauterized it lol.

Great demonstration, I was entertained AND I learned.  What is the music you’re listening to in the first video?  I want to add it to my next mix

Rule of thumb for viewers: don't use your kid's youtube.

Next to that: a viewer might want to turn off youtube's 'Restricted mode' to be not (or at least: less) be treated as an infant or imbecile, and get those warning messages. To be clear: the viewer has to change that in his settings.

Next to that 2: there is a part of me that is in line with google's interpretation: it is a bit OFFENSIVE to mistreat those jars on your thigh, right? Or am I the only one being offended here?!

And thanks for the video.

Question: I wonder why you put 'so much' mycelium in the jars. I understand it will boost the speed of colonisation, but with 4/4 of a petridish instead of 1/4 of it, what will be the time benefit? A week? How long does your 1 quart jar take to fully colonize?

I'm asking because I want to weigh the cost of petridishes (basically the work of filling them and the agar, as I have reuseables) to quicker colonisation.

Also thinking that if I put so much agar to jar, could one get away with less effort for sterile jars, like, just cooking would be enough? Depends also on how quick those jars colonize I guess.

Restricted mode only hides those videos. Age restriction is still enforced by account. So, if one is trying to view the video privately through something like a vpn, and doesn't want to sign in to youtube, or go through the hassle of making an extra "fake" account for viewing purposes, age restricted videos will still be locked until they sign in with an adult account. In short, it's still an annoyance.

No matter, though. It appears Beef's appeal was granted. The restriction is no longer in place. I assume the uploader module initially restricted it because it picked up the zoomed in crotch shot. Hilarious.

Nice video, thanks alot.

I often have the probldem that some bits of agar stick to the side of the jar above the grain. Still didnt find out how i can get then away from there. Agar is a sticky soab πŸ˜‚

No big deal. If it doesn't reach the grain just tilt the jar on its side for a while until mycelium colonizes a few grains, then shake it like a polaroid picture

Shit man your thighs have to be made of steel. I just can NOT get mine off the side of the jar no matter how hard I smash them.

Try adding a smidge more agar next time, to stiffen it up

I already use 2.5-3% agar for my plates and very low nutrients (something like 0.5%). It's just sticky as all hell and it gets worse when mycelium grows onto the glass
