i'm hitting up a couple shows during the first week of august.  what shows are you going to specifically? 

SCI isn't coming close to me which sucks.  :mad:  but the dead are coming right by me :grin: . which is all that matters for me i guess.

oh yeh, good campgrounds all over eastern Iowa.. some with river and cliffs, some with lakes, some with showers, some with none.

Over two weeks before the Alpine shows, we should go one of these times. I'd seriously drive over there, I have nothing going on. I guess the weather is supposed to be crap for a few days tho.

My car is a bomb but I'll drive it anywhere, if the damn thing dies I don't give a damn I'll give the fucker away. It gets 24 miles a gallon on average I could there and back on a tank.

Let's do it. I can come Saturday afternoon. You got some good farm ponds? Lakes? Rivers? What kind of fishing? I need to know which tackle box to bring. I'm dead serious to, if you want I will drive over Saturday afternoon. It's hard to get the dead beats around here off their asses.

Rig for big cats.. I hunt the 10 to 50 pounders. I think you would like Palasades.. good camping, river, cliffs, woods, showers... oh there is Kent park too.. stocked lake, not to big, good camping..we can figure out where easy enough.

Sweet Jesus! You talking flatheads? Do you eat them that big? I've only caught a couple 10+ cats in my day, I'll have to bring my pops road if we are going that big. What bait do you use and is 20lb test enough?

yeh 20 lb test is fine if ya set the drag right.. i use big ass shade for bait, usually 6 to 10 inches long. I got an extra pole or 2 if needed. I gota few 8 foot rods. I don't eat em that big, but i get alot of 3 to 8 pounders i fillet up and eat... lol we sure stole this thread lmfao..

Hahaha, my father is up in canada 3 times a year, he has good rigs. I've fished Pike and Lakers up there also so I know how to handle big uns a little bit. I'll gladly except pointers tho.

What size of lead and hooks will I need? I might have some but I couldn't be sure with out digging around. I just have a single tray with my small stream channel cat stuff set up now.

Just bring the poles, i got ya covered on tackle. not sure what weight sinkers i use, i just go in and buy the size that looks like i use.. bout this long egg sinker (............) and treble hooks that i special rig with the line going thru the bait and treble hook where the tail would be.
