Local bands on tour

Hey does anyone here follow many local bands or acts? I like to find good new music, and thats the best way to do it. But I know other cities have to have smaller bands going around on tour, and I miss them because they only play in the area occasionally and the band is an unknown so I don't bother to check it out.

So I thought it'd be cool to have a thread where people from different cities post tour schedules of local bands they recommend. So like if you live in Missouri and there is some kickass obscure group that will be touring in Seattle then I'll hear about it from someone in Missouri.

So I decided to start this thread because one of my favorite local bands (http://www.fcsnorth.com/) is now touring with another band which has one of my favorite local musicians (http://fogworld.com/skerik/). I'd love to go to any of these shows to see these two elements together.

June 9 @ Luther's Blues (Madison, WI)
June 10 @ Quest (Minneapolis, MN)

So check them out. And if you have a favorite local band thats going on tour, post their schedule. These can be bands or other sorts of acts as well.

Damn I would love to see them at the Quest, Skerik is the shit! To bad I planned out my summer seeing bands I'm already framiliar with. I think this summer is my graduation from Phish/Dead/WSP one more go round this summer and I'll be focusing my energy on up and coming bands or atleast look around for 6 months or so. http://www.jambase.com is a great way to find out about local acts/ national tours/ guest appearances et cetera et cetera..

OH YES!!  The Ordinary Way.  They are a local Jam Band who are CONSTANTLY touring.  They are AWESOME!!!  I went to high school with the guitar player and thats how I found out about em.  The first time I saw them play, I didn't know what to expect but the second they started playing, I couldn't help but move and groove with it!  You have GOT to check them out if you can....even if you just download some songs, you'll be glad you did!  Check em out at:  www.theordinaryway.com Heres their tour schedule for the summer.  It looks like they are sticking to the east coast for a few months but they do go out to the West coast a few times a year. :smile:

What in the world? People actually play in WV. I live in one of the bigger cities of WV and we never get much of anything. If there's ever anything good goin on in WV then PM ME :laugh:
