I just dont get Widespread. I love the Dead, and most jam bands. I have friends that brag about the 200+ shows they have seen, and can only remember about 4 of them. If your gonna go for the drugs, just go to a phish show.
But dood, they have hundreds of songs that all rock! yeah right... i have been to 7 shows of theirs, and even the most hardcore crack smokin hippy next to me trying to write the set list has to wait until the chorus comes on to figure out what song it is. Wait, is this space wrangler or climb to safety? the entire crowd even has a hard time trying to figure out if this is their favorite song or not.
Dood! this is my favorite song! oh wait, it is something else....i think.... hold on..it might be....nah, it isnt.

I have tried to enjoy their shows, really I have, and maybe im just not taking enough drugs, but nobody can thoroughly explain what the attraction of WSP is to me.

Anyone?

Saw them twice this year, at Bonnaroo and 10,000 Lakes.

Awesome shows! Download their Bonnaroo sets from bt.etree.org. You won't be disappointed.

:nonono: all i can say to that is fuck right off, sir. :nonono:

but, anyhow, back on topic. i've seen widespread only once. the 2nd night of bonaroo '03. i was so worn out from the drive down there, neil young the first night, not having slept in 40 some hours, and a gangful of jello shooters that a beautiful girl kept feeding me, that i actually fell asleep underneath a tree halfway through the show. :shrug: i'd like to check them out again, though!
