Nice!
I see walnut shells on your patch.
Are these good for the mycelium?

Yes, the mycelium likes them, I add the walnut and hazelnut shells in addition to the fermented beech shavings.

These should be P. Subaeruginosa. However the stipe seems to be a bit off color-wise. Thoughts? (A few days ago, we had quite a bit of wind though, which bruised the P. Cyanescens stipes)

Are they too mature to collect spores?

So I decided to make some microdose capsules from Psilocybe Cyanescens 0,125gr each. But these fuckers are pretty potent! One hour in I felt it's presence and it was a good vibe.. I would say equal to a 0,3 normal mushroom equivalent? 2,5 as potent maybe

Some of you may remember this trough I started back in May. Lots of chips spawned with azurescens.

I’ve been keeping it moist and feeding it chips every month or so. I haven’t gotten any fruit yet, but the myc is eating it’s way to the surface.

It’s got some leaf litter on the surface, so the chips always stay damp. I’m hoping for something soon, or it will be too cold. We’ve already had a few hard frosts and a dusting of snow. Got my fingers crossed.

Australian subaeruginosa genetics that were planted summer 2020, first fruited fall 2021, I took prints and planted this patch late winter 2022. It fruited really well last fall too.

Some of them really look like nipples.

Hey Land Trout, did you plant your sub spawn into soil? They don’t appear to be growing off of wood chips. Very cool. I hope to have some cool pictures to post myself next fall.

They are in wood chips. They grass is just growing through the chip bed. As far as I know all Psilocybes really like grass.

Herald of the holidays, inbetween halloween and christmas Psilocybe cyanescens pokes up, now for the 15th year in a row in my perennial wavy caps patch.

First one of the flush!

I harvested it!
A 2.3gr fresh cyan is about 3mg tryptamines, 4 microdoses, 2 mood enhancers or to me, 1 trip. (i'm 4x as sensitive as most)

When I cut the shroom, it was a cluster of three so the other two now get a growth spurt. Taking a pic of that: baby shrooms all around!

I'm happy the Little Wavy Caps Patch That Could keeps on going towards its second decade!

You won't get anything this year since you kept feeding it. Give it some rest for at least a year if you want fruits.

Found a big branch/log with cyans.
They are directly between the bark and the wood.
First time I see that.

edit: nvm, they ended up dropping spores about 40 hours after picking. probably was just too impatient with the harvesting

Hey, everyone!
I started my first cyanescens patch last year in the spring, it fruited last fall and it's fruiting nicely this year too, which I'm very happy about.
I'm trying to take some spore prints to start my next patch. I've harvested 6 fruits, cut the stems off, and had the caps in the SAB on tinfoil for about 15 hours now, but they're not really dropping spores. 5-6 hours ago I've misted the inside of some clean jars and placed them on the caps to increase humidity (not sure if it was a good idea). Still not seeing spores.
The caps were fully open when I harvested the fruits, but the gills weren't darkened by spores yet. Also haven't had freezing temps yet.
Did I just pick too early? Should I wait another 12 hours or just try again with more mature fruits?
Sorry for the noob question, this is pretty much my first grow.

A question for the community. I will add walnut shells and fermented beech when fruiting will be finished.
Is there a proportion to respect?
