Yoga and drugs

There was a good post last year called something like ?your ideal job? where some guy talked about LSD and yoga. He said that if you were to do acid on its own its like taking pile of gunpowder and lighting it up. There is a flash and its pretty but that?s all there is. But if you combine LSD with yoga that?s like employing a rocket to burn the gunpowder and sending it into orbit.

Anyone tried the two together? I?ve only taken up yoga last month, before that i tried some basic yoga moves on acid and the result was astonishing. I?ve never felt more comfortable in my skin

I have also read somewhere that doing yoga during acid trip gave good results, increased trips strength by one level (on a 5 level scale). What was interesting, doing yoga during candyfliping (acid + E) that was a level 4 trip, helped bringing it to the mistical unity level 5. I really must try it next time, If it works for you too...

Anyone got any good online resources for self yoga lerning?

please do not take acid and meditate upon the chakras or attempt to raise the kundalini.
meditate or whatever to feel relaxed and focused. if things start cooking from there, well jolly good and so on.

fuck with the snake and it will bite you hard.

if you wanna head down these paths, may i suggest focusing upon whatever religous icon or symbol you prefer whilst frying.
jesus, bob, krisna are all sweet.
tibetan mandalas are good, epecially when they turn into tunnels and you can travel thru them.

I agree that doing kundalini will turn into a bad trip. The first bad trip I ever had was doing a homemade technique where I drew energy up from the feet instead of down through the crown.

I especially recommend one of the balancing yogas like Sri Vidya, Mahamudra, or Dao. Best not to play with fire if you don't even know the word hot.

Yes, I'm the guy who came up with that analogy. I began using psychedelics in 1971, and took my first Yoga class in 1973. Yoga means Union, and constitutes the techniques for 'unifying' one's consciousness into a 'lens' for the 'con-centration' of Spirit. Psychedelics can lend the extra power of 'Kundalini-Shakti' (Hindu Yoga) or the 'Inner Fire' (Buddhist Yoga) for the Highest Realizations - namely, the Ascent to the Sahasrara, and the Descent which Enlightens the Anahata Chakra and transmutes it into the Hridayam - Sacred Heart Cave (or in Vajrayana, the Realization of the Diamond Body - the Jewel in the Lotus of the Heart). Physical health (from the the same root word of heal and whole) is one result of Yoga practice, paticularly classic Ashtanga Yoga.

LSD ia an extremely powerful tool, as are mushrooms.


Both of them have the ability to enhance spiritual practices, thats just their nature.

But read the post above mine for a more informed explanation :smile:
