Did Covid just disapear into thin air? Reports from Around the World

Everything where I live in America is back to normal. I haven't heard anything about Covid, masks, or vaccines in months now, except for a thread by Asante also in this forum. I just wanted to see if it's the same where you live? 

So, at least where I live, No one is either getting it or talking about it... AT ALL.. It's a nice breath of fresh air... puns intended.

Can someone explain to me how the covid thing just vanished? Like, almost like it never happened. I mean it was such a big deal and then slowly it just got forgotten it seems.

Covid obviously had so many consequences, but I think besides the people who died, the kids were hurt psychologically the most by the whole experience as far as life progress and mentality changes. Not ALL kids mind you. Also, relationships and marriages took a huge hit. Yikes.

What a dang crazy chapter in humanity I can't believe I lived through that. They'll be talking about it in 20 years like " Oh hey, remember that Covid thing?"

Does ANYONE know anyone who has gotten covid recently? Am I the only one that's heard nothing about this in probably 4+months until I saw a post by Asante? I would just like to hear what it's like in the country you live in. This post is from America.

Be safe y'all! AND PLEASE NO VACCINE/MASK DEBATES ! I don't want a fight to break out. Let's keep this about if covid just "dissapeared" where you live too, or is it still a thing? What are some lasting impacts you've seen or anything else you want to say on the subject?

You can still wear a mask if you like to do cocaine and/or avoid facial recognition software.

Absolutely! And especially this winter time I'm going to mask up, it's really nice to keep my face warm :smile: And I think winter time the risk is higher for the Flu and other cold like things. So yeah! Gonna keep up with the masks because also: Fuck Facial recognition. Massive invasion of privacy but I don't see it ever going away, just getting worse

I would keep an eye on plans for the metaverse or some other matrix ripoff shit. It seems everything covid chilled out just as people were rejecting the fuck out of it.

It was going around my kids school a month or so ago. One of them got it and spent a couple of days at home. Was like a moderate cold in symptoms. Got over it in 3 days.

The main guy I work with, his Dad is 80 something and got it in that same wave in my community. He did a stretch in hospital.

It's nothing like it was a couple of years ago though. No one locally is dying from it now. Just like a cold now. No more dramas for healthy people.

I havnt heard of anyone catching covid in a minute

The pharmacy still has a huge stack of free tests by the counter, I took one but never needed to use it

I see the odd person in a mask, I myself havnt worn one, and think I only would if I was sick myself

Companies are trying to get people back I'm the office, I see the odd reddit thread of people bitching because of that

I should add to this that it did so exactly as myself and most other medical personnel and researchers predicted it would. You're a fool if you think that because it's not an issue right now it wasn't an issue 3 years ago. We were saying back then why it was an issue then and you weren't listening and we're saying why it's not an issue anymore now and you're still not listening.

There will always be bad actors that take advantage of situations where everyone is scrambling around not really knowing what to do. Too many people are making the mistake of thinking that those bad actors were the reason for things like covid shut Downs and that they're also the reason that covid shutdowns are no longer the case.

No. COVID was a genuinely new viral disease caused by a genuinely new virus. If it had been created in a lab and released by bad actors then all of the restrictive measures that had been put in place would never have been taken away. If you think that they wouldn't have taken them away had brave souls like yourself not fought back against the system, you're spinning yourself for a hero that you're not

You were scrambling around not really knowing what to do in your own way. What you did was focus on feeling like a victim and spin a narrative about who was victimizing you, and like all narratives people make it gets oversimplified to an us vs them or good vs bad people sorry. The virus is bad for humans. Humans are neither good nor bad. Actions are bad for humans. People did bad things to take advantage of your distraction/confusion. The real enemy was the virus. It's not anymore because again like we said viruses evolve much more quickly than other things and selective pressures make it so that extremely deadly ones are out competed by more easily transmitted but less deadly ones. I told you this would be the case in spring of 2020. It's just how viruses work.

And just so we're clear, there are still mutants of that original SARS cov2 virus around and there are still people getting infected. It's just fallen to the point where it's not really detectable above what we would expect from the set of viral illnesses we went into our lives dealing with. Every once in awhile we have a patient that has a stroke and on autopsy they determine that the patient had to COVID (they try not to test anyone who doesn't seem genuinely sick with covid anymore bc it doesn't make sense to for logistical and financial reasons, too many people who don't need treatment pop positive and trigger an expensive series of guidelines). And it probably is the case that even though the person was on their way to having a stroke the covid still played a significant role in speeding that process along. But viral illnesses have probably always played a significant role in speeding along the process of acute events like that.

I live on the state line of 2 states and one state was super crazy over covid and the other didn't give 2 flying fucks from the beginning......I liked that states view more :awehigh:

COVID19 didn't disappear into thin air.
It's still circulating, though way less then it was during the pandemic.
I guess we finally reached herd immunity and the virus mostly just died away.
