Anyone eligible should apply. There is a deadline: October 15. Beyond that it may not matter if you were eligible.
Remember, not everyone has access to the Internet or an understanding of tax code. If you are in the US and know people in your community who should be receiving these funds, but may not know how to navigate these systems, consider helping them apply.
Not everyone has access to banks or can supply the IRS with appropriate routing/account info for easy distribution. Additional work may be necessary here to facilitate the distribution of funds.

That sucks. I’ve been told by a doctor working in a hospitsl that this is a very big problem. Patients - even ones that didn’t seem very sick the first time - coming down with severe clotting issues and/or kidney failure a month or so after the originally recovered.

There is likely an epidemic of silent ischemic injuries occurring in people with covid who might even have what they think is an asymptomatic case. A while back I posted an article about an explosion of strokes occurring in younger people who would almost never suffer that kind of issue

It is true. Its why we give heparin and tpa to any covid patient who is immobile for a long time and we encourage people who are sick to be admitted for a least a bit because whether they are at home or in the hospital they are likely to just lay in bed for many days on end which can cause them to develop deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. This is one of many reasons why hamheads whole argument about "if they are sick enough to be hospitalized then they are too sick to benefit from hcq" makes no sense- there is no objective measure of who is "sick enough to be hospitalized". Who gets hospitalized totally depends on how many beds and resources there are to go around and the evolving understanding of related complications related to covid. Patients who are not hospitalized would also benefit from heparin and tpa but we dont give it outpatient for the same reason we would never give hcq outpatient to covid patients, people on those meds need to be monitored for complications of the meds themselves and have their dosages continually readjusted and be somewhere where antidotes are readily available and such
In his case they figured the risk of GI bleeding was too great to give those meds though so all he had to prevent a clot was sequential compression devices but I guess they didn't work well enough. Its sad. I was honestly kind of surprised when he came off the vent the first time though

Something like 500,000 people have been hospitalized with covid. The financial burden of all this is staggering and even worse when you consider much of it was preventable.
Imagine not having any insurance and spending two weeks in the hospital. Your future dreams are over. You will never recover from the debt burden. Yet we have assholes who think the real problem is not having a job for three months and having to wear a mask when you’re buying a pack of cigarettes

morrowasted said: A while back I mentioned I had a friend who was hospitalized on a vent with covid. He came off the vent and eventually was discharged to a skilled nursing facility because he was very weak frail after weeks of hospitalization. He seemed to be over the acute infection itself and making a recovery in the skilled nursing facility but today he developed a pulmonary embolism. He is now back on a ventilator. He cannot receive anti blod clot meds because he developed a severe stomach ulcer after being on parenteral nutrition for a long time. Under different circumstances they might do an embolectomy but in his case I doubt they will because of his condition. Needless to say his prognosis is very very poor.

Very sorry to hear this, I hope he won't go the way of my aunt

for any given lesson there will be a portion of the population that has to learn it the hard way
My friend was still employed but I promise you he would trade being laid off and forced to wear a mask for what he has been through- spending the last 6 weeks of his life in various hospitals sick, weak, and struggling to breathe with no family or friends around for comfort
