Even if it's the wrong strain for the year. Your innate immune system picks it up easier and the adaptive immune system has an easier time fighting it than without a flu vaccination.

I almost never get the flu but i did get pig flu and another nasty one. Bird flu, h1n1, something like that. I figure that those were some nasty flus and i made it through, so fuck it

I'm prone to getting the flu, not every year, but enough so that I do get the shot. My grandma is a memory care home for dementia that I visit a few times a month, and that's also a big part of why I get it.
Comparing the number of fatalities to the number of infected people for this new virus puts it in the same fatality range for The Spanish Flu. Which killed between 3 and 5% of the population. That's pretty scary.
There's also ancient viruses laying dormant in the permafrost in Siberia and other regions that are probably going to be an issue at some point or another.

They eat everything there and bugs. Doesn't surprise me with the bats. U.S. major trading partner with them. And almost everything from China is shit. Japan is so much better with products.
Chinese, having talked to a foreign exchange student, which doesn't mean I know it all, but government is always right and follow. Nope. Some guy or girl is going around my parts in the states putting stickers on everything not allowed within reason. And all is say is, NOPE. Makes me laugh. Chinese products are shit to get to the point.

Yeah, I'm a nurse, private practice though so it's not required. Plus everyone of the patients are stable and just come for a visit and to get scripts. It's super sweet and laid back. No weekends, days only and 6 paid vacation days a year. I even have my own office, and get days off whenever I ask. life is good.
@BP: I'm not getting one, and no he is not a dumbfuck. Triple board cert, no marks on his record, super cool guy. FUCK that flu shot shit. Go ahead and get it.

For a nurse it's pretty damn good, and I have no kids or pets, weekends off is a major plus as a nurse and days only, shiiiiiiiiit, I LOVE it! I was in the bar and restaurant biz for 34 years, consider that as well.
