I am endeavoring to be the kind of Jew that Jesus was, so what exactly does that make me? The Jews say that I am an apostate - not a Jew at all. I do not fit into any of the denominational 'molds' of today's Christianity. I am undeniably a heretic to Christians. Though I was raised a Jew, was Baptized in a Catholic Church, and took a Master of Theological Studies degree at a Methodist Seminary, I am not recognized by any of these groups. The only 'mold' that I fit well with is the 'Mycelial Mold of MarkostheGnostic.'

Yes dear friends, in these dark times when you can't tell a Baptist from a bigot, a Priest from a Pedophile, or by the same token, a Presbyterian from a pederast, an Anabaptist from an adulterer, a Methodist from a materialist or even a Lutheran from a Luciferian, I wish to be informed personally by God - not Dogma. Yes friends...Dogma... like the 'Ma' [mother] of a dog...is a bitch. The Catholics hate the Protestants, the Protestants hate the Catholics, the Catholics hate the Orthodox, the Orthodox hate the Catholics... and Everyone hates the Jews. God however, has always been good to me.

So when I say that I wish to be personally informed by God, I do not mean to sound presumptuous or special. I have found in this Sphere (to use a Kabbalistic term) - the one furthest from God - the Sphere called 'Malkuth' [the Kingdom], that the lowest common denominator of existence is entropy, and entropy with regard to living creatures is death. But I, like most of you, have discovered that there is Something in this Sphere that Lives on Death and on Decay. From Death and Decay, It imparts Life and Consciousness. It is a small number of living organisms that belong to a greater family of organisms called The Fungi. These 'guys' are not all Fun mind you. The ones that I honor impart Life, but there are those called the 'Angel of Death' and one called 'The Angel of Destruction' who do not bring Life.

As Hippy-leader of The Farm - Stephen Gaskin - once said: 'A man and a mushroom can get together, and each can become greater than before they came together.' The lowliest yet physically largest vegetative life form on Earth (some mycelial bodies weighing thousands of pounds) and the so-called 'Crown of Creation' - [Hu]man - can merge, with the latter 'incorporating' the former, thereby becoming suffused with the former - becoming 'Bemushroomed' and that [Comm]union can magnify the Awareness, the Realization of God by the Human Being.

Imagine, as I have (or look in a full-length mirror), Primordial Man - the Archetype of Humanity - whether in the form of Jesus or in the Kabbalistic Adam Kadmon - standing straight, with arms stretched outward in the form of a Human cross (Large 'T'), then bringing both straight arms up, palms up, over the head - describing an arc. The Human is the stipe, the arc forms the cap, the palms together form the umbo. Now bring your hands, palms together, down in front of your Heart (Small 't'). The symbolic gesture is complete - Head to Heart. 'T' ['t'] is for Truth - the Universal Truth into the individual truth.

And the important part - the essence of the matter - the Teaching. Through the Sacramental use of the Sacred Mushroom, how are you Taught to BE? Have you learned Holy Awe? Have you learned to be humble in the Face of Infinity? Have you seen the follies of Humankind's pathetic quest for social status and worldly power as little more than children showing off or pleasuring themselves or being older schoolyard bullies? Have you seen and laughed, and if so, was it the Luciferian laughter of contempt for the spiritually blind, or was is Joyful Light laughter from your liberation from the social 'matrix?' And most importantly of all - having seen these things - have you learned to BE Compassionate? Yes, then enter in to the [Mush]Room of the Gnostic Redeemer.

Our Church will not have a spire, nor a dome, it will be in the shape of...you guessed it. And folks...you will want to go to Church again, because the Cup of wine will be sweet and will end the service. The Host will be of pressed, powdered Mushroom Dust. You will again enjoy the colors of stained-glass windows. The music will be spacey to heavenly - from Dark Star to J.S. Bach. The Trinity will embody The Father-The Son-The Mother. God will be Known as 'Abwoon' in the Aramaic - Cosmic Mother-Father. We will teach how to Live, which is to say, how to BE, and we will teach how to die - not in fear but in ecstasy. We will 'worship' God as Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, Loving Kindness and as Beauty. But we will also 'accept' God as the Author of Wrath, of Judgement, of Power and we will learn to Integrate the Opposites in ourselves, as they are in God. +++Amen+++ Brothers and Sisters +++Amen+++

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

I loaned and lost 'Monday Night Class' to a philosophy teacher, Arthur Lothstein, in the mid 70's. Still have 'Caravan' though. Lothstein's class used to be visited by a hairy freak who I found out was a friend of his - Tuli Kupferburg of The Fugs. I never spoke to the guy unfortunately. In seminary, a doctoral candidate in philosophy had talked with Gaskin while at U. of Tennessee and found him interesting. I thought the books were great at the time, but I remember Chogyam Trungpa refer to Gaskin as "a demonic hippy." This, from a ciggy-smoking, saki-guzzling womanizing trickster (who happened to write good books). What is it with authors who turn out to be dicks? I heard a lecture byThomas Moore in an RC Church, later asked him to sign a book after everyone had left. "I'm not signing books tonight." WTF? I've gotta visit one of these Starwood festivals before they stop happening. I'm a camper - or was, anyway before adulthood took hold of me.

Gnostic Redeemer - I dunno, I think I heard this somewhere. But, between Tiphereth-Beauty/Compassion and Kether-Crown on the Tree of Life, there is the mysterious non-sephirothic sphere of Da'at-Knowledge [Gnosis]. Kind of like the Throat Center [Knowledge-Holding Deities] that lies between the Heart Center [Peaceful Deities] and the Head Center [Wrathful Deities] in Tibetan Buddhist Yoga. So, yeah, Gnosis is salvific, redeeming. The Vicarious Sacrifice metaphor of being 'washed in the Blood of the Lamb' has just never been effective for me. I sought and found another form of Christianity. Fortunately we're not in a 'burning time!'

So, if we build this Mushroomic Church edifice, and I act as first pastor, do you think I should dress like Papa Smurf?
