Do you think World War 3 is going to happen?

Simple question:

Do you think the events in the Ukraine are going to lead to what be described afterwards as World War 3?

I mean there is no official definition of what constitutes the third world war, but an "all in" scenario of most of the world versus Russia and China/North Korea

I don't think World War 3 will happen. I think people are collectively too wise to let it happen.

I do. I hate to admit it and ide love to be wrong.

Russia's pushing buttons. It's doing exactly what Americans and Europeans are against. And people are seeing and saying more about it than ever, about everything in general, we are demanding our governments take action quicker and to greater extents everyday. And it seems as though we are demanding a stop of this. Will Russia stop? No. Will they stop before the people of the world demand their governments to intervene, probably not, seems as tho we are actually almost to that point. And when that happens, I mean fuck man I'm not even 30 so I cant really spwcualte to much even.

But I mean fuck we've been at war in the middle eat for 20+ years and it's just a thing.Russia gets alittle out of line and everyone's all like "world war!", Why is that?

And not to undermine it, but why? And maybe the answer lies in that. Maybe we've just been playing up the true situation in the middle east, maybe Russia is much more to fear, maybe now's the perfect time for a war, I mean we're already on edge with China, economies around the world are staggering.

Idk what's going on, but it's clearly abnormal, and not abnormal in the since like one of our contingent allies (like most governments of the world) is pushing their limits, as usual, but more so why the focus is coming in now


Is it something Russia has done, again is it more out of line than anything else done lately by other governments. Is it the way we perceive ourselves and our world and out ability for change. Is it a plot of our own government that we don't entirely know the purpose of yet.

Probably a bit of all of it. Whothefukknows.

Tell you the truth I dontreallythefukcare but when everyone and their mom is asking the same question, it is kind of odd.?

Well I sure hope not, but it looks like the risk is significant at the moment. My hope is that when push comes to shove, Putin gets deposed by saner people close to him. I'm think there must be people at pretty high levels who see that Russia must back down for its own good and the world's, yet Putin probably is incapable of backing down. Yes Ukraine is valuable but stealing it requires subjugating a population of tens of millions who really don't want that.


I'm also hoping that people of all political stripes in the West will start to understand better the propaganda war that has been waged here by Russia to pit all sides against each other and foster extremism, and break free of its influence. Especially in the Murdoch propagandasphere but everyone else too.

Lets hope that, for instance due to, or under the guise of, the bombing of reseach facilities no devastating smallpox pandemic breaks out before May 20 leading up to a limited nuclear exchange between Russia and the US in which Russia like it said it might, crashes ISS into the US like an Asteroid impact USA 2022  leading to a worldwide economic collapse.


Because that would suck.

Not too much of that makes sense tho Asante. A week or two ago I would have said chances are way more likely but now I think the chances of all out world war are more remote. It seems like everyone is pissed and nobody wants a major war we just have to hope we can nip this in the bud. :sadyes:

Certainly things can get very bad in innumerable ways. But I think most people in the word want less tyranny, exploitation and war. The people who want otherwise hold onto their power by fear but don't have true popular support. Even the tyrant's staunchest loyalists have to fear the tyrant turning on them at a whim.


Too bad these holdout tyrannical regimes couldn't have just gone the German/Japanese route of "abandon authoritarianism and prosper." Putin is a crafty guy but seems completely unable to see this. He can only conceive of making Russia more prosperous by being a dick.

NATO is just as responsible as Russia for provoking this. When powers are adamantly hostile to one another is it any surprise things like this happens?

NATO executed operations across the globe to topple governments for their own benefit wether to seize their resources or because they are planning to withdraw their currency and economy from the central bank like Libya did. They bombed Yugoslavia and killed families and went against the U.N. Security council’s approval and bombed Serbia anyway.

Wether Ukraine has a right as a sovereign nation to join NATO and the European Union is already beyond the point now. They should have thought about that before NATO antagonized the shit out of Russia by bombing Serbia, excluding them from cooperation with NATO/UN, and overall cold relations since the 90s. Ukraine can’t join NATO, in a world of such actively hostile nations and cold relations to one another countries like Ukraine and Georgia cannot just expect to be allowed to join the fold of an enemy hostile power like NATO right at the doorstep of the heartland of Russia. No sane leader of a nation would allow such a thing regardless of the morality or horrors of invasion or war. The Russian people are a proud nation of people who have endured a great deal of suffering in its 1,000+ history and protecting their self determination and sovereignty from some globalist corporate interest plutocrat controlled coalition of corrupt nations is in their best interest and if that means they have to invade Ukraine or cause a nuclear Holocaust that’s what it seems they are willing to do and i suggest we not call their bluff and regret it for the rest of human history.

It’s not going to happen over Ukraine. Russia is already taking more losses than they anticipated and Europe needs Russian gas.

Russia will take Ukraine, it may take ages, and there will probably be heavy losses on both side.

It will however push European energy independence really quickly and bite Putin in the ass. He will basically lose his primary income and all ability to wage war. It’s a shame the US won’t follow with energy independence, instead we will up production and cash in.
