It's time for hospitals to reevaluate covid protocols. The decisions they make will be extremely complicated and will inevitably leave many people angry. But for the sake of those people dying of non-covid related causes, it needs to happen

There’s a nonzero chance society could kinda breakdown for a bit next week. There are going to be so many sick people, nothing is going to get done. Stores are gonna close. Inventory is going to get depleted. :popcorn:

Don’t do anything stupid for the next two weeks. If you have an accident and need emergency treatment, you may have a hard time getting it.

Was already the case for the first month in some places

It is obvious why the most economically privileged are the ones most likely to be against mandated vaccination

The bigger problem than anti vaxxers, though, is the inability of many people to be sufficiently engaged with politics to have enough foresight to make decisions that are in both their best interest and the best interest of others.

On a typical day in the hospital I will hear a total of maybe ten to twelve rapid response/crisis intervention/code blue anouncements. Yesterday I heard at least 4 times as many. It felt like I was hearing them every 5 or 10 minutes. Most of them were either rapid responses or crisis interventions in the emergency department waiting room. Essentially people having heart attacks or strokes or whatever because the emergency room wait times have gotten so long because there are too many covid patients coming in too quickly. Units are having to scramble to transfer 18 patients to 10 different units so they can accommodate just covid positive patients because there's nowhere close to enough isolation rooms to accommodate them.

Last night my unit could not find a charge nurse for the second night in a row so they had to just assign patients to everyone and unload all of the charge nurse duties onto the most experienced of those people. The previous night the unit manager had to come in as charge nurse, which is totally unprecedented. I've never seen the manager do actual nursing work on the unit, night or day, at all.

Are you in the US? If you are, maybe the US should build a separate hospital for covid patients(China did it in one week) and have the US army run it(since they have the biggest army uninvitedly around the world). Literally problem solved. Unvaccinated people are not even close to the cause of issue. It's just stingy, shitty leadership and it's funny they got everyone believing unvaccinated people are the source of these problems lmao.

Honestly, it's a simple solution to the issue you're talking about for any first world country really.

Has nothing to do with stingy leadership. Municipal taxpayer dollars are allocated by elected officials. This is a cumbersome process.

It doesn't have anything to do with China. I just pointed out they built a covid hospital staffed with army so your issue you're complaining about wouldn't happen. There's no shortage of money. 700billion budget for the army. You don't need to make excuses for shitty and stingy leadership. But it's easier for you to blame unvaccinated people for that right?
