Well Koods has been going on about how George washington intentionally gave his troops small pox to fight against small pox, in fact, that is how vaccination has always worked, until the mRNA vaccine.

If you got the chicken pox vaccine, congrats you have chicken pox in your spine for life and it might resurface when your 80 and kill you.

Oh yeah, the massive amount of old people dying from a resurgence of chicken pox must be completely swept under the rug. Giant conspiracy.

Do you think about words after you say them or just not at all?

Chicken pox just like herpes is a life long illness, the chicken pox vaccine is a weakened live virus, of which quickly enters your nerves, of which your body has a hard time reaching with anti bodies, the body develops immunity to hit and any time it tries to leave the nerves of the spine the body starts seeking it out and before it can reach the surface and cause a blister the body beats it back into your spine, where it can not reach with your immune system.

For the rest of your life your immune system and chicken pox are in an ebb and flow relationship.

There is a large debate on what elderly people are more likely to die from chicken pox.

Which is more deadly to the elderly, the naturally caught chicken pox or the vaccine caught chicken pox. So far the scientific consensus lands at, who cares as it prevents the disease from chicken pox for most of the persons life and now they're old and will die any day anyway.

So you believe if you catch chicken pox from someone it's the same thing as deliberately receiving a vaccine with attenuated virus in it?

Or do you not actually have a point and you're just trying to be right about something?

I don't know what you are going on about I said that once you get old the virus that you got the vaccine for can reactivate as your immune system starts failing and then you can die from the chicken pox vaccine you received as a child.

I stated a fact and you all seem pretty upset about it.

Catching a virus implies that you were exposed to and contracted the actual virus and therefore were susceptible to the illness caused by the virus. If you catch chicken pox, you catch chicken pox. The chicken pox vaccine contains an attenuated virus, almost completely reducing the risk of actually getting sick with chicken pox.

You don't walk out of a varicella vaccine appointment saying "My kid just caught chicken pox!" You do walk away from leaving your kid at a chicken pox play date saying "I hope my kid catches chicken pox!". Obviously two very different scenarios with different outcomes. Feel free to keep arguing that "catch a virus" actually means "get vaccinated" though, maybe link it back to how it actually relates to the COVID vaccine at some point too

It's literally dormant in their spine for life till it wakes up, often when they're elderly and many do die from it.

https://www.cdc.gov/shingles/hcp/clinical-overview.html

"Although herpes zoster has always been uncommon among children, the rate of herpes zoster in U.S. children has been declining since the routine varicella vaccination program started. Varicella vaccine contains live attenuated VZV, which causes latent infection."

Latent infection means dormant, the immune system keeps beating it back into the nerves in the spine. Until your immune system becomes to weak to continue doing it from age.

You literally have the virus for life if you get the vaccine.

Welcome to being a hypocrite, the same type you loathe.

So now that, that is all clear as day right from the CDC for all to see, who benefits the most from the chicken pox vaccine?

Is it the people who get it?

Or is it the small amount of people who don't get it, since the people who got it now have the virus that causes the blisters, and now have a chance of getting shingles later in life,

is it the people who got the vaccine that have the most to gain?

Or is it the smaller amount of people who don't get the vaccine and don't have viruses replicating deep in their spinal nerves who now are protected by all the people who do have the virus replicating in their nerves, who are much less likely to spread it to the antivaxxed against the chicken pox virus who are 100% chicken pox virus free and now have an extremely lower chance of ever catching it as it mostly spreads when someone has visible blisters.

The anti vaxxer in that situation has the most to gain.

So I need you all to get all your vaccinations so that I am protected.

The mrna vaccine isn't considered a controlled exposure though is it?

Part of my apprehension to the vaccine is that it is a "new type of vaccine" as I've heard described by medical professionals unless I am mistaken.

Because unlike the traditional method where you are taking in a dormant form of the virus (this or I may be wrong) what the new vax does is introduce genetic information for your cells to produce.

It's entirely possible this is not accurate so if anyone can clarify on the difference between the two that would be great.

In regards to eradicating covid, again, I was under the impression that because it is a respiratory disease it is not possible to eradicate in the same way we have done for other diseases such as small pox and in the same way we have not erradicated the flu.

Similar to the flu, I haven't looked it up but didn't the flu kill an outrageous amount of people when it was first introduced (not introduced but you know what I mean) to the masses ?

I should probably freshen up on some of my history on how we handled it and the impact it has had. Vax or no vax, a new disease runs rampant until it kills everyone it will kill and those alive begin to build immunity. This is just how it's worked in the past to the best of my knowledge and without me making claims for or against getting a vax.

But it seems like when a new virus is introduced to us humans, it generally has a devastating impact.

Also just want to say that not everyone who hasn't gotten the vax is killing people.

I don't have the vax, I didn't start covid, I didn't infect not 1 single person nor did I kill 1 single person.

As much as some of you would like to blame me, I am not to blame.

After being part of and then reading the on going back and forth, I don't think many people are getting much out of this thread besides practice debating

You can do all the googling you want about vaccines, you're still trying to argue that the phrase I used "catch the virus" is somehow synonymous with recieveing a vaccine with an attenuated virus in it. If you want to do mental gymnastics about my word choice, sure... you can be right. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that no one in history who got vaccinated for varicella and never caught chicken pox says "I caught chicken pox".

Especially considering my post was responding to someone talking about catching the virus the 'natural way', you're literally just cherry picking one small irrelavant point to be right about, and failing.
