A I invited a very dear friend of mine who didn't get the vaccination over to the house my wife and I just bought and started renovating. He couldn't make it because, and I quote: "somehow we got the 'rona". He was just as careful as I was about the virus.

I didn't say anything because I love him, (unlike y'all dumb motherfuckers) but I have a pretty good idea why he and his family got infected and I haven't. Knock on wood because it's just my luck I'd say some shit and then catch it, but yeah, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to go "well you didn't get the vaccine, no clue how you caught the highly infectious, rampant, worldwide virus."

I am kind of forgiving for anti-vaxxers, i understand their skepticism, i know the media and govt mishandle everything nowa days, and the skepticism is a product of an inherently flawed system. Its too bad peoole have such short attention spans and prefer to not change opinions once theyre made and accepted. Thats a lesson we never teach in schools which is how to over come the embarraent of being wrong. People would rather risk dying of covid than risk being embarrased, even if their embarraent is completely private, they dont want that experience, its worse than the idea of death

Like, I get that longbus and budmann and other anti-vaxxers in this thread might have mitigating attributes, but I since this is all I see of them, as well as espousing other ideals I don't agree with, it makes it very easy to discount their existence entirely. Like if I REALLY thought about it, I supposed I'd be sad if they died. But on the other hand, maybe not.

My friend isn't "anti-vaxx", and he's also very intelligent otherwise, but something about this PARTICULAR vaccine/pandemic has everyone going stupid and saying the other side are fucking idiots. And yes, I do the same thing. There's just no fixing it. People have separated too far.

My most honest stance is that i dont know shit about vaccines, i dont think anyone knows the full correct answer and given the choice id rather not take a shot, but since my entire family went ahead took it, if the vax kills them all i wouldnt want to be the only one alive, ill die with them, that was my rationale to go and get it, and doing so also pacified any potential tension between us about it. Plus i saw the tiny 2cc's of (as far as i could tell was just) water go into my arm and i had zero side effects so by this point, i dont give a fuck whats going on anymore, i get to live my life without people getting pissed at me for faith based reasons and i also get to enjoy being on the hyopthetical good guy side regardless of how valid that actually is

To a lot of people it's just a game. They're contrarians and love the attention they get by being on the 'alternative' side... sticking it to the establishment. Any underlying beliefs in what they're arguing about are secondary to them. It's no surprise there's so much overlap with the trumper people because a lot of his supporters were the exact same way.

Someone in my circle is a hardcore trump supporter and "don't tread on me" type. He also lives with a mother who's on immunosuppressants after a liver transplant. You can tell that every fiber of his being wants to be at the local dive bar bullshitting about bill gates and lockdowns and freedom with his friends, but a doctor telling him that if he got COVID he would likely kill his mother removed him from the game his friends play and put him into reality. Luckily he was able to actually accept objective reality, seems like a lot of people can't go back once they transition to fantasy land.

I didn't mean from the virus, just in general. Car accident, plane crash, cancer, etc. If you caught the delta variant and died, that would be the most poetically just way, I suppose. Or any other way that in someone else you would consider to be untenable for evolution, but then when the shoe is on YOUR foot suddenly it's a big deal. Who knows how many attributes you consider to be that?

I did lose it I was doing kratom a bit frequently at the time, I stopped for a few months it all came back, any time I do kratom my body oder changes again and my taste gets weird so at this point I am concluding that it is in fact a reaction I am having from the kratom and not covid.

We should still wear masks. Everyone glosses over the people who have an autoimmune disease or can't get vaccinated, but there are people who legitimately cannot get the vaccine for medical reasons, and people who don't wear masks are just as guilty of making their life harder and scarier as the idiots who refuse to get vaccinated for selfish or fearful reasons.

I get that you're being sarcastic, and you can go fuck yourself, but they are something all you anti-vaxxers and "patriots" conveniently forget in your stupid-ass "my body, my choice haha" statements.

Yeah, the vaccinated are protected from you for the most part. But the people who cannot get vaccinated are getting shit on entirely.

Well Koods has been going on about how George washington intentionally gave his troops small pox to fight against small pox, in fact, that is how vaccination has always worked, until the mRNA vaccine.

If you got the chicken pox vaccine, congrats you have chicken pox in your spine for life and it might resurface when your 80 and kill you.
