Well considering the dark net is alive and well with top reputable sellers selling insane top shelf "medical grade" as they call it.

I haven't just looked at pictures, I've tried that shit out. The shit I've gotten from online has been leaps and bounds better than any of the dank shit I've found in person. I'm in a big southern state with no legal weed.

I've been to colorado and the smoke shops there, the shit I got online was better than the dispensary bud the last time I was in denver with the lady.

I've been noticing that I get a small level of auditory hallucinations from weed now a days.

The reason a landrace is said to be more pure is because it is. A landrace is an original strain, grown in it original climate/area. The reason crossing becomes stronger is beyond my comprehension.  I'd love to know. But think of different hot peppers. Why does crossing them create a hotter pepper? Beats tf outta me. Wicked cool tho.

Yep. That's the kind of shit I'm talking about. There's a ton of top medical grade shit online, you can get a lb of the shit for as low as 1200-1400 from some of the bigger dealers and the prices only get better as you buy more in bulk. Some of the super top shelf is a bit more expensive than that, but for the price it's some insane shit.

I'm aware of the dark net but not at all familiar with what sorts of herb and what quality is available on there. In regards to the markets I'm familiar with, no one uses the term "medical grade" .

I mean super dank stuff is still out there and can still be found but from what I've seen it just isn't nearly as common as it used to be. And even then, I feel what a lot of people consider dank these days just is not up to par with my snobby nose lol. I feel a lot of people get some "good" weed and because they were used to getting mediocre weed for a long time they think it's the best thing ever, but they don't know how good and how dank it can actually get.

I was just talking generally in regards to what I've seen in the "markets" (street/friends and recreational weed stores) that I've gone through over the past 16-ish years that I've been smoking.

Yea most flower in weed stores is "meh". Inconsistent. Over priced for what one gets. Though I have certainly found some good deals at times, and have found a few brands that pretty consistently have decent quality stuff for fair prices. I find that extracts are what stores are good for and that's about it, one store in my area has a huge selection of different types of extracts for pretty cheap prices.

Because I've had weed that looks like that as far as being very frosted with trichomes/resin, totally caked and white, but it actually wasn't all that great in over all quality. (not saying yours is like that, just saying as an example)

It looked good and had some good potency but that was about it, it had relatively little aroma or the aroma wasn't all that complex/loud, same with the flavor, the bud wasn't all that sticky/resinous/oily in the fingers especially considering how frosted it was with trichomes, and the high/buzz was lackluster (tho potent).

A lot of stuff in weed stores is like that, looks great but that's about it...basically all aesthetics and no soul. (again, I'm not saying your bud in that pic is like that)


I'm growing some MAC at the moment. It's my first time growing the plant and I've only had it/smoked it a few times, I really enjoy it though. All the stuff I've had has been bought in stores and didn't have a strong aroma so I'm looking forward to seeing what the live resin on the plant smells like and seeing the buds develop and frost up, I know MAC is one of those strains that's know for it's heavy frosting and a lot of resin.

openmind is right that people have just gotten used to bud being weaker. maybe the people who depend on being "that high" switched to dabs. the high isn't as good IMO but it's definitely strong

I have been 'burned' on weed that sort of looks like that. Where it tastes divine and is covered in beautiful crystals and orange hairs and huge buds but does not get me quite as high as I expect. Best I ever had was just some indoor homegrown by somebody who had been doing it for a while. Just looked very 'healthy' and had that nostalgic hashy, grandma's basement type odor. Even that got a little old as I got used to it, still got me blitzed but just bored me like all weed does at a certain point.

Then again I think that when I'm deepest into weed, I both find the best stuff and have my highest tolerance. Rarely will I find some amazing amazing amazing shit when I have been out of the scene for long enough to have zero tolerance. I think it's pretty relative though, and the game of looking for the 'best of the best' comes down to the ppl that chase the dragon so to speak. It's just not necessary unless you smoke every day or every other day.

That's not at all how it is for me...I look for and try to grow the "best of the best" because I am very passionate about high quality cannabis flower and I am really into aromas. I don't know why one wouldn't want to look for the best quality possible they can get their hands on (as long as the price is fair). Unless you're one of those people that smokes just purely to get high and for no other reason. Similar to some one that buys cheap beer like Budweiser just to get buzzed/drunk, versus someone that buys a craft beer of sorts to enjoy the act of drinking a beer and appreciate all the nuances and everything that went into it.


The "best of the best" has nothing to do with potency or high THC content. When I smoke the herb I am not at all trying to get as stoned as possible and when I'm looking for very high quality herb the potency of that herb has nothing to do with how I judge the actual quality of such.

To me...Quality has far more to do with the beauty/aesthetics of a flower, the amount of oil/resin a flower produces, how aromatic and how complex the aroma is, how smooth and how oily/thick the smoke is, how much flavor the smoke has, how clean the herb burns, what the high/effect feels like, the actual quality of the high.


Some of the best cannabis I've ever smoked didn't get me high at all!...It was a CBD strain. The flowers were incredibly dank, frosted with trichomes that contained a lot of oil/resin, sticky, pungent smell with many complex layers/notes, great flavor. It was a super nice smoke and some high quality flower but it didn't get me high at all, the potency/THC content has nothing to do with the quality of a cannabis flower.


High THC content doesn't necessarily = quality

High quality flowers doesn't necessarily = high THC content.

Many strains popular nowadays are just too mellow indicas. Just like purp back in the day.

The obsession with the perfect, anxiety-inducing yet physically debilitating OG is very much dying. I haven't been on THCFarmer for some time but I sure hope there are people preserving that practice.
