I don't use/smoke weed, but when I visit CO next year I want to try some.

  I have read people here saying that the weed is WAYYY too strong if you're not used to it and that they wish they could get some of that "mids" weed from the 2000's


Should I just take like a very very small hit or something? I heard the weed is like 20% pure THC... that is CRAZY!


How does one even "get into it" now a days with such strong stuff. Seems like it might knock me on my ass and I won't be able to enjoy a vacation.


Thoughts? Advice?

I've seen upwards of 35%. All it really comes down to is to just use less. You could also just buy less strong stuff

I pre-heat quarters of my bud in the oven or else I get this really acidic burn when I smoke that hurts my throat

If you go to a decent shop they will have multiple strains, some are not going to be absolute thc bombs. I would look for some of the classic strains that still show up like aculpulco gold which have lower thc. You can use weed maps to view the menu ahead of time and window shop. Read the strain descriptions on leafly etc.

I suggest getting a glass one hiter and just puffing a small bit at a time, take a few pulls wait 5 minutes before taking anymore. Just use a small piece like the size of a pea.

Wow yeah that's awesome then.. I didn't even think about someone intentionally growing strains with less THC like the "old  aculpulco gold ones.


I just kept seeing people here saying that the stuff is way too strong if you haven't smoked ever before or in many years.


This gives me some hope. THank you!

It's because inexperienced silly heads go off and buy the strongest shit and consume a shit load at one time. Then of course they freak out and start crying. That's why they had to start putting limits on edible strength. I have to have at least 100mgs to feel anything like the slightest head change. And that like eating a whole giant candy bar. Plus I try to stay away from sugar as much as I can.

Am I the only one that really loves dirt weed??

I used to go out of my way to find low rent dealers with brick weed outta mexico because I love schwag. Don't get me wrong I can hang with the strong bud out there now. Its got its place, and I enjoy the fuck out of it too.
But theres just something special about that weed thats gone to seed. Reggie is just so perfect.

Some of the highest times I've ever had were literally puffin a handful of reggie roaches. I've come to learn that cannabis is half perspective and letting go.

I used to say," if it smokes, it smokes." I was just glad to have weed. And I still will grab low quality in high amounts for cheap when I can.

No, I miss that stuff, I'd be buying it all the time if I could. Unfortunately, nobody I know has had any in over 10 years.

I can actually finish a joint without gettin too blasted...I miss that.

PA dispo weed is only 2 years old .. it meh. I dont really get much their buds 1/8 here and there.
I quit growing since they got on, after 30yrs of doing it, its nice just to walk into the store. Ill probably start up after I can buy clones in a nursery. seriously getting to old to be babysitting them.
