If I lived in Texas or florida I would have a different calculation about masks. The fact is that DC had been averaging less than one death per day for months. Covid just isn’t a problem here and I doubt it will be because of our high vaccination rates and educated, rational population.

Since vaccinated people are able to catch the virus and spread the virus, can't it be spread between people in "vax only spaces"? Then all of these people can go home to their families and spread the virus to unvaccinated kids?

Washington DC = double the crime rate & double the homeless rate of the national average.

Might these factors be related to the high vaccination rates?

Those numbers in the graph are per 1.000.000 people of that age group

The peak for people aged 0-19 was around the end of May, and reached an astonishing 6,1 hospitalizations per 1.000.000 inhabitants

I got a couple legit n95 masks from my mom who needs them to travel on Lufthansa. Holy shit, it’s like wearing a suction cup on your face. I have no idea how healthcare workers were those things day in and day out

I had to wear an N95 under a surgical mask with goggles from Jan-April. You get used to it pretty quickly, talking loudly with one on is a nightmare though. I'd be running out of breath mid sentence.

When I went to a new hospital they let vaccinated staff just wear surgical masks even if treating active Covid patients. That only lasted a couple weeks though, once more data came out about the vaccine they changed it to n95 while with Covid patients and surgical for everyone else.

Going back to work next week and will probably wear a KN or KF under my surgical mask. The Delta numbers are spiking here and the hospital is much more lax now with patient testing and allowing visitors.
