Meh I figure 800 grams coir and 250 verm. It’s usually pretty close.

Pasty
I thought I saw you write:
Coir 650g (one brick)
Vermiculite 3 qt
water 4500 ml
spawn 4 qt
Is this correct?

It was when I used pet grade bricks, I’ve not done those in a while now.

I didn't know there were different grades. This is what I am using for coir. And I switched to your 650/3qt/4500. Is that right for this type of coir?

Pasty, thanks for all the invaluable info you offer here, you have helped me so much!

That’s not a bad price, eco earth 9 bricks ~13lb are $26

$16 for an 11lb brick isnt bad, sans the hassle of having to break it up and weigh it

650/3/4.5 will work all day long IMO. I use different measurements myself now but it works pretty close to the same.

Yes, best price I have been able to find. And free shipping. Initially breaking them apart was a bit of a hassle but got used to it quickly.

What is canna coir and why is it so desirable ?

It's coir used for growing cannabis. It has super fine consistency, no sticks, rocks, or any other bullshit detritus.

Do you use the bricks only?

Curious to hear if anyone has tried the 50L bags. The bricks are pricey compared to Eco earth and others but I can see it making sense for a smaller grow.

I get these 11 lb blocks for $7

With this method I assume you still cover with tape at first and then when fruiting do you cover the holes with micropore tape or polyfill or just leave open because they are so small?

Update on my set and forget pan cyan monos with different hole figure.. sucks lost all 5 tubs to trench 100% white cased with straight verm started to eat casing patched a few times waiting for over 2 weeks didn't see a thing casing was wet finally I caved and checked below the casing and low and behold green monster!

Spawn was clean af agar>grain 1.5qt spawn per 27qt mono used different hole sizes for each tub to see if I can get it to fruit. None did not a single pin... Guess they need alot more far idk.

Hi ClodHopper
The original post says that you may use tape or poly depending on environment, but generally, the TEK does not require it. You can start with fruiting conditions straight from spawning to the tubs. If you find that the sub is drying too fast, you can add mp tape as needed. But I have not found that necessary and I live in a very dry climate and grow PE as well as other easier varieties.
