Yeah I agree dogs are probably more sketchy.

Eastern coyote are 30-50lbs. They're hybridized with dogs. People mistake them for wolves. Saw one about 15 years ago sniffing and checking out the path my dad and bro just walked down. It was eerie. Something in it's movement just said "not a dog." Wasn't scared exactly but uneasy.

There's also the constant threat of rabies. Any animals acting unusually puts me on edge. Luckily almost all such encounters were just unusually curious or ballsy critters.

I think it's wise to be aware and take some basic precautions, especially if you have little dogs.

My current most active concern is a badger
have seen it on two different walks now, once on my own once with the dogs
turned the dogs right around and took them home with a quarter walk
Chance thinks he's 10 feet tall and antagonizes anything he spots

especially a pain when vehicles pass
have to stop and hold him by the harness
but if he gets too crazy about it, Roscoe starts going
and Roscoe is well behaved, but blinding with cataracts

Yeah that's little dog syndrome

My mom's dog is that way. I've seen him pick a fight with a pitbull. Lucky for him the pit was very well behaved.

How distant were the sightings? Rabies kills within a few weeks after the onset of symptoms iirc.

with the dogs was a couple days ago,
on my own was a few days to a week before that
badgers are a problem because they are iffy with timing
skunks in the day are an instant red flag, but badgers on cool mornings or cool evenings are not that uncommon in my experience

have never been treated for rabies, but my mother has back when the administration was a bunch of needles to the stomache
she was walking downtown in the city in sandles one day
felt something bite her ankle, it was a bat
she went straight in, and someone had to go back for the bat so it could be sent in for testing
it ended up being positive anyway, but they already began treatment before those results came in
because testing had to be sent across the country but rabies treatments were on-hand due to farmers getting all sorts of bites and stuff

That's scary. Glad she was ok and went and got treatment asap.

I think it should be reiterated more how important it is with any animal bite. Especially now that the treatment isn't so onerous. Rabies on every level is nothing to fuck around with.

Don't know hardly anything about badgers. They're not a thing here. Have seen raccoons out in the day but have seen it enough (and read enough) to know they do do that sometimes even if they're not sick. :ohwell: animals on an individual basis can be as inexplicably weird as people sometimes.

Anyway I'm going to bed. Goodnight all :hatsoff:

Tonight I spent hours looking at the stars and honestly I saw so many questionable things in the sky that I got bored. I lost count. One I watched for close to an hour because it was so easy to track. we named him Fred. I asked Fred to move in a particular manner/direction several times because I felt there was a level of communication and it responded. I was having a fire with the wife and we were looking at the stars and I was telling her about this one time, you know, and as I was talking i randomly watched this one trailing light. It was just going in a straight line, came to a certain point and another started to move, then they circled around eachother and came to meet at the center like a single point/star. That little event at the end was about the size of what your thumb would amount to. Then we kept seeing one after another after another  I saw a bigger one with smaller ones trailing it. I could see super faint ones and really bright ones just lazily doing S shapes or completely reversing directions. I was tripping because I could literally pick a random light in the sky and it would exhibit all the signs of being a UFO. The skies above my house are very very clear. I've seen a lot of weird shit. Every year. This year is different. Night and day different. The last few years I could stay up all night and be happy I saw one good one and I literally saw possibly hundreds of phenomenon over the course of a few hours. I know what satellites and planes and the ISS are. These things rapidly change speed and direction at a high altitude with varying sizes and emitting various colours. I've never felt more like I was living Truman Show than seeing all those lights in the sky watching me. Seriously. And I'll tell you something. Even if there's a Space Force. We don't have that many

There are a ton of satellites and random debris refracting light that are orbiting the earth nowadays.  Look up on a clear night and there’s a lots of things moving around.  While sky gazing on my back at night,  sometimes it feels like I’m falling through infinity & and every once in a blue moon I feel the vast openness of the sky / space for a few moments before my brain compartmentalizes it into a not so terrifyingly & wondrously thing..  It’s a trip in itself.

JaF knows what I’m saying :rocket:

It's not refraction or satellites. These are bare minimum sub-orbital objects moving at a high rate of speed and changing direction and/speed in an inorganic manner. They will all stop on a dime and go one direction just as much as it will go any other one. I just spent all night pointing out satellites and planes so I knew what not to waste my time with and to compare the actually interesting things to.

You guys have any tips on not feeling bad when you are neglected?

Only hope can give rise to the emotion we call despair. But it is nearly impossible for a man to try to live without hope, so I guess that leaves Man no choice but to walk around with despair as his companion.

Pets! Help so much. If no pet, a stuffed animal to hug.

Try gaming online where you can voice chat with people and thus stave off the neglected feelings by distraction

Talking it out with yourself, write about it, the experience. Make art, channel your feelings into something productive.

hope you feel better windex

Second person telling me it's garbage.. no. It's not. I saw hundreds of unidentified craft in the upper atmosphere. I know how things move in the sky. This night was different and so is this year in particular. I have nothing to gain from making these claims and governments across the globe have slow-leaked info on ET contact for decades. I'm not saying anything wild.

I did not say that at all. I was merely adding on about how we have so many satellites and space junk all around us. Its pretty mind boggling. It wasn't directed at you.
