    #2663704 -

while working inside a sterilized glove-box w/ 12 jars,,, dose one have to keep flaming the needle for every jar or is once enough???
w/ the edition of wiping the needle w/ alchol pad in between jars.

thanx, MD

Yes I agree,a little alcahol prep pad in your glovebox to wipe the needle is a good idea.If for some reason one of the jars did contain contams, whether your in a glovebox or not you could still spread them from jar to jar.

i know tripin420 to flame the needle for each and every jar seems like over-kill while in a sterilized glove-box,,, and yes the needle melts the plastic of the syringe flameing for each jar!?!

dose anyone else have insight to this ???

we already told you, there is no need to do that if your in a glovebox, but alcahol is still a wise precaution.

This may be overkill, but it makes for peace of mind.

What I did was create a glove box (did a shit load of other precuations too) and inside I wipped the lid of each jar with an alcohol pad so if I touched the needle to the lid it wouldn't carry germs. Then I flamed the needle once before every jar and then wipped with the alcohol pad to cool it down. Each jar had four holes, and every time I took the needle out I did a quick wip.

So it was really one flame per jar, four alcohol wips per jar, and one nice big wip on the surface of the jar.

If you want to see how crazy I really am, I wrote a long post on what I did:
