Yep, the only problem would be possible explosions. (don't ask) So that means no flame sterilization. I set my syringes and other tools in a beaker filled with isopropyl alchohol. This is second rate but I've had good results with mine.

its the amount of water in your substrate...play with tweaking the recipe...

Ya, the alchohol is all you need. Now, you need to let your jars cool down inside the pressure cooker, about five hours is enough. Otherwise the hot jars suck in air as they cool. You're doomed from the get go.

HAHA, dont ask, heh, yeah, a close glove box filled with lysol and rubbing alcohol, why not throw a ligher in there to be extra sterile! :P well, it would most likely do a great job at sterilizing everything, the only problem would be it sterilizing you as well :P I would love to watch a video of someone trying that. yes, i do love real tv, max extereme, and any other shows showing human misery its funny as long as its not happening to you.

that method would be alot cheaper than buying a hepa filter, probably easier too



just wash your hands,and use latex gloves-thats real cheap-i dont use a golve box-i never lose to contams-maybe 1 out of 50

To guarantee(sp) sterility use the paper towel rubbing alcohol thing but once the alcohol is on the syring needle light it on fire. The alcohol evaporated and the fire dies on its own in like 2 seconds. This will not let ANY contams live. I did this and i got no contams.....so far

what i use for 6 jars is this

4 cups Vermiculite
1 1/2 cups Flour
1 1/2 cups water

this is what is suggested on this site and works considerably well
