SCARY glove box.....

my old man made a glovebox today, and he was try to sterilize it with lysol....well first of all the lysol and lighter and substrate jars and syringe were in the glove box....and him spray'd it all around, to sterilize everything,....and waited...for the alchol to evap....but i guess he didnt wait long enough "like 5 min"....and it kinda imploded.....everything was ok, but what to do next time? :wtf:

dont use flame in a lysol sprayed <sp? glove box. it can't evaporate away. the thing about a glove box is being air-tight so no contams can get in. next time instead of using a flame to clean your syringes use single use alcohol pads or just have a bottle of alcohol and a few cotton balls in the box before you spray. hope this helps.

*EDIT* i just re-read your post and it doesn't say you used the lighter to do anything, i just assumed you are using it to sterilize syringe needles. But if that is not what you are doing then i dont know what to tell you. sorry

i thought the old man was gonna die.....he moved away alil bit knowing what could happen....i guess he was just a little bit to excited....today was the first day he saw his first jars colonizing!
got some corn syrup today....gonna try the KYRO tek....is it ok that it has vanilla in it??....it all did

Haha, I did this with my glovebox also, made a crazy blue flame rolling through the inside of my box... then I stopped and thought that flammable material inside a closed environment is not going anywhere, so keep flames away.

Didn't seem to ruin the spore viability or anything, luckily

Same happened to me. Now I spray it with a high bleach/water solution instead of any flamable product.
