Did some bird watching today.

It was nice and peaceful.

Some birds are super smart. In Hawaii, we have these birds called Mina Birds. They are actually from India. They make all sorts of weird sounds thats remind me of Compis or Raptors from Jurassic Park. One time, i saw a group of them in the road, making all sorts of intricate sounds and it looked like they were having a Fight Club scene sparring session each other with the rest of the Mina Birds watched.

I kept looking at them like :whattefuck2:

Apparently those types of birds can actually be trained to talk like a parrot as well. Kinda cool!

So my roommate is now in complete isolation with her toddler, and her grandfather who is starting to suffer from gradual dementia. Her bf got called back to work for an essential manufacturing business, so she's bugged out even further into rural PA. I don't blame her, at all, because he grandfather has some serious health complications and relies on a really shitty VA hospital for care. The name of the game for him is not getting infected at all.

She called me up late last night, and told me that there were multiple home invasions happening on her road, during the day, with people home(obviously). Said she got herself a 9mm, in addition to her grandfather's shotguns, and that she was posted up on guard.

...She also has apparently found an old skinned coyote hat to wear while posted up with her guns. We were kind of joking around about it, but there is some legit Deliverance shit going down right now in rural PA.

...granted, there is always some legit Deliverance shit going down in rural PA, but still, I feel bad, and a little scared for her, though clearly she's holding down the fort. Told her not to worry about the next 3 months of rent, at least. Our landlord is letting us defer the payments using our security deposit, anyway, so I'm just going to defer her balance of the rent.

lol doubt it. That shit's survived worse.

I do hope we'll come out of this a kinder, more mindful society, that takes care of it's people better, though. I also hope that everyone who is currently working from home gets to stay at home from now on. It just makes so much more sense from both an ecological and productivity standpoint imo.

True. Whole lot more people now - especially down here. Whole lot of spread out people here too, as opposed to Canada, which has the second largest geographical area of wilderness in the world. I also have much more faith in Canada in general being able to execute this vision :lol:

With a lack of leadership federally, and certain state's trying to shut down borders(at least to people from NY/NJ), it's definitely showing how divided and decentralized we are in the first place. I'm definitely looking to my state's leadership for answers and guidance, not the federal government.
