The word communist wasn't even mentioned in your link.

And you left out a critical piece of the article:  "The reason is the existence of the US estate or "death" tax. The simple fact of the matter is that, as an aging billionaire many times over, Mayor Bloomberg sees the clock ticking on his ability to play Estate Planning 101: the simple advice to spend it all and die broke."

It appears to me that CNN is just arguing against the estate tax. Fuck them.

But in a very meaningful sense, Mayor Bloomberg is playing with what in the long run would be house money. The public is effectively picking up at least 40% of the tab for Bloomberg's massively financed run.

(...)

So when Bloomberg spends $5 billion to run for president, we the people lose either $2 billion in tax revenues or $5 billion in public charity.

Of course the only way to claim we will "lose" is if one accepts the money is ours to lose. In the sane world where people still own their (tax paid!) income Mike can choose to wipe his mini ass with his money and we will not "lose" a cent because it was not ours in the first place.

And if you think it is only the filthy rich that play with "house" money think again. The difference between commies going after the rich and going after everyone else is a year or two of tanking economy...

CNN promotes BS and they don't even care about their poor ratings. The Establishment uses CNN to promote their agendas, which usually end up being completely false narratives.

I can assure you that the scum that runs CNN cares everything about money and control, and it doesn't involve communism.

You are a man of honour but, with due respect, I do not see ANY evidence here that CNN are arguing against estate tax. To the contrary, they put in the opinion section a piece suggesting that citizens spending their own savings the way they deem fit are somehow losing the "house money" others are entitled to. The estate tax is the vehicle for this mechanism of re-distribution and the author is approvingly accepting it as a basis for his argument.

It is a communist concept that all property belongs to the collective.

Perhaps you didn't realize this, but taxes aren't exclusive to communist countries.

Actually I did (I am not stupid, lol) but the concept that the citizens' tax-paid income is some sort of "house money" they are not supposed to spend foolishly or else the public will suffer a "loss" is exclusively communist.

If you look at Edward McCaffery's other articles, you'll clearly see he thinks billionaires should be taxed more.

I assure you that's not exclusively a communist idea.

You think Communism is mainstream?  Not even Bernie supports Communism.  And CCN sure as hell doesn't support Bernie.

Though I suspect you're just joking.

I think that CNN posted an opinion piece espousing communist perspective that citizens are just playing with "house money" which the collective ultimately can lay claim to. This contrasts with a more mainstream view that tax-paid income belongs to those who have earned it and its no one's business what they end up doing with it.

Now, the rest of our little exchange is just you obfuscating and side tracking - lke that taxes exist not only in communism or that the dude who wrote the piece thinks taxes should be higher. This has nothing to do with my claimed position and you know it.

The title of the CNN piece is appalling

"Mike Bloomberg's presidential run could cost taxpayers billions"

Mini Mike is free to spend his money however the fuck he wants and it is not going to "cost" anyone anything - it is HIS money. I am not saying it out of love for him but if we accept the rich only play with "house money", sorry bitches - so does everyone else

Iowa Democrats should not certify inaccurate caucus results

Things are worse than I expected them to be.  I figured the establishment just wanted to give the false impression that Bernie wasn't the frontrunner for a little while to give the other candidates a boost.

Instead they said they don't have time (after nearly a month) to fix all their mistakes.

‘We don’t have time to correct every error’: Iowa Democrats vote 24-14 to certify caucus results

Over 1/3 of the IDC wanted to make it right, but they lost the vote.

I'm a man of my word, so I've updated my signature according to my signature bet.

I was more arguing for NYT’s accuracy, not whether they’re mainstream news:shrug:
