Used to fuck around and do link cable battles in the red/blue to ruby/sapphire gens
but now Nintendo is holding actual official ranked tournaments through the in-game systems, and it can get me a bunch of in game prizes if performing well enough

Chaining has been both removed and made easier in the new games
chaining itself does not exist, but as you battle more of any pokémon it increases odds of finding a shiny version

would really like a Shiny Gigantamax Alcremie


but the method of getting Gigantamax is a new Raid mode, so it is nigh impossible to actually farm a shiny version
have my Master Ball in my inventory in case managing to find one tho

am currently breeding with a Shiny Charm (completed my Pokédex) and a Spanish Ditto for Masuda Method
so my odds are around 1/512 every egg hatch

in the old games with no chaining, only ever got a Shiny Fearow

for me, farm out a pokémon with good IVs first, then put that in for breeding to get solid IVs when my Shiny procs

main reason to have a Shiny in competitive is the psychological edge of anger and distraction over the opponent seeing a shiny they wish they had

Had a nice loooooong work vacation thanks to my current schedule and having Thanksgiving off. Played a bunch of games over the weekend. Evrn played Overwatch on XB1 with my two best friends. That was cool. They liked it but didnt quite "love" it. Which is OK, cause Im cool with it being my personal video game. My friend J is still recovering from shingles. Hes going to take another week off work, and we gonna play more gamez

Also watched The Mandelorian thru Disney+. I guess Im doing the monthly charge thing ... That 4th episode was really cool thou. Unique.
