You can't open an LC to smell it without contaminating it. If it wasn't fucked before it certainly is now.

Well that teaches me not to use my common sense... I thought I was getting good advice to smell it.
There was no smell at all.

So I’ll start again. FFS

Did you use spores to inoculate that broth?

Because it's the primary reason why your LC had no growth to begin with. LC broth must be inoculated by clean mycelium from agar. There is no exception to this rule. Spores will only waste resources and time.

Better luck next time.

It's possible. But you are way more likely to fail, possibly even lose 100% of your work. When I was a beginner I tried making lc with spores. It never ever worked out for me. I always got frustrated and could only grow using pf tek. It's because I was following shitty advice.

Mycelium on agar can be visually inspected quite well, your success rate will increase dramatically. I wouldn't even bother making lc with spores but you can try. It just sucks wasting time.

Also, a ton of YouTube growers and Reddit users give absolutely shit horrible advice.

The whole concept of using spores is redundant, you are relying on the syringe to be clean but if it was clean u may as well just use it for grain to start and not be two weeks behind waiting on lc?

It doesn't matter what i think of you...all that matters is clean spawn
