Flow hood (potential) filter.

I am in working on a Laminar flow hood design  and  got a great deal on a unused surplus 12"x 24"x 5 7/8" Halco HEPA 99.97% at .3 m and thought I had done my research, but specs on filter indicate static pressure .59 wg at 225 cfm. It is my understanding a minimum of 1 wg static pressure is required to achieve Laminar flow (with adequate blower fan at desired flow rate of 100 cfm). I am handy and can  build fb / wire fan,  but calculations and flow rates and static pressure are making my head spin.
Will this filter work to achieve Laminar flow?

You can get laminar flow from .8 to over 1.1 Water Gauge (wg)..
It's best to run It 12 in. high and 24 in. wide.. It's good you got the 5.8 inch thick filter..
It'll be a nice unit for you If your just doing hobby level production..

Your going to want a blower that puts out more than 225 cfm and static pressure of .59

Graingers Is a good place to locate the blower you want (Dayton) they have specification so you can see if static pressure is adequate.

Make sure your plenum is big enough..

If in doubt contact the supplier and ask about Laminar flow for that filter. He probably could suggest what blower to look at..
Don't forget to use a pre-filter...

The new dimple pleated hepas specifically made for laminar flow applications have initial resistances under 0.6" w.g.

Hi again. So I completed the build w/the blower motor/Hepa filter  recommended and have a  7 ish inch plenum. I did the lighter test and it fully blows out at 1-3 inches from filter face but bends at a lot 90 degrees at 3  inches.
I've read varying measurements for lighter test but before I start modifying the set up, wanted to clarify ideal scenario for flame test or criteria for fail.

Much gratitude!.(top filter removed for varnish drying.
