Indoor mushrooms in gardening soil

Gardening soil!

Didn’t know what to do with a giant contaminated cake. Buried it in garden soil in a smart pot, three days in I soaked the soil with hydrogen peroxide. Misted like a cake. Mushrooms!

Is there a lazy way to keep the colony nourished beyond its current life expectancy? What if I stick dry spaghettis down in the soil once the fruiting winds completely down and then recover the top? Lol I’m imagining a perpetual shrooms vessel void of labor.

Potting soil has actually been successfully used as a bulk substrate for many years, some growers even compare it to hpoo!
It blew my mind when I discovered that buried in the archives and I now have a tub of grated cakes spawned to potting soil + straw and limestone just days away from casing.
I've never found an explanation as to why everyone doesn't know that cubensis can eat potting soil.

Lol yeah I didn’t even pc it or anything. I feel like th microdose I tried from the gardening soil was noticeably more potent than when I just grew this strain on brf. But maybe I’m just trippin. Lol

If it came from MS probably just genetics I doubt it has too much to do with with the garden soil but who knows?

This cake was pretty much dead so I decided to try sticking spaghettis into it to feed it...
The spaghetti now has mycelium fuzz growing off it and fruits returned to the cake...
I’m going to try cleaning off some of the other dying cakes and sticking them full of more spaghetti and recasing them along side some that I don’t stick with spaghettis to see what happens!

Wow man, awesomely unique idea to stick spaghetti noodles in the cakes to extend fruiting! Posting here to follow along, love the open air houseplant grow too! Perhaps all the extra fresh air was the added difference in the potency you experienced?

Lol the spaghettis were just right there on the counter in a jar and it got me wondering! Yeah the fresh air really makes them grow more firm.

Is the spaghetti just for added moisture? Or will the myc get nutrients from it too? Looks wacky, but I hope it works out for you!

Makes me wonder if you could cook some whole wheat spaghetti, drain it, stir in some verm and use that as a substrate.

Maybe I'll give that a shot.  Worst thing that happens is I waste like 50 cents worth of noodles.
