Dunking cakes in nutrient solution
    #608736 -

I am going to try a side-by-side comparison of dunking one cake in water and another cake in dextrose-water to see if the added nutrients can revitalize a smei-spent cake after the first flush. Will keep everyone posted.

Anyone else try this yet?

I would be very interesting cuz dunking cakes rocks. Got 24 dry grams from 4 1/2 pints of brown rice dunking before first flush.

What is cake dunking? How long do you have to dunk for?
Anyway wouldn't you have to use pure isolates in order for it to be a true camparison.
For god's sake we need some control capt'n.

i've dunked in skim milk with some success,
but the dunk must be done under refridgeration.
tried dextrose too, but it made the cake sticky,
which i didn't like since it indicated a sugar residue on the exterior.
but dunking works great, and we've got tons of info & pics about it at mycotopia, since, after all, we're the guys who made dunking a household word.
and here's the latest-- i've discovered that i can safely add 1% bleach solution to my dunk without ill effects, making everything nice and clean.

Watch out you don't want to make the exterior of the cake nutritious or contams can easily get a good foot hold. "Mycosense"
