hey Moe, i did the same thing with my used-up cake. i tossed it into my flower pot, except that it wasnt a fern, its a plant with somewhat less moist soil. Unfortunately, i did not get any pinning. instead, my plant (the soil) got infested with some little bugs which i couldn't even identify, though i think they were spider mites. i think they were feeding off the dying mycelium cause they were not on the actual plant, just in the soil, esp. around the cakes. ohhh, i'm sure those little buggers had an interesting meal :smile:

yeah, i got a few pins before, but contams almost always took over the plants roots, and the mushies..

I would reckon that this is a whole lot better and more sociable than throwing a dead wife into P.F cake mix.

when my cakes are spent I am going to throw them all over town and see what happens. The funnest one will be my moms fern garden, it is going to really piss her off.. cant wait :smile:
